There is another form you can fill. All you have to do is convince them that you can't reach your hubby to go notarize the form.
see the attached DS-5525: Statement of Exigent/Special Family Circumstances - For Issuance of a Passport to a Minor Under Age 16

Thanks mamaron and jullzz for your response. Am so grateful. I Will stay At The general area at Heathrow.
My visa is expiring in February 29 and I intend to travel January 30th for my missionary journey. I do not plan to renew my visa until after delivery when I return back to Nigeria. Kindly advice as i am of the view that I do not have to renew my visa now since my visa would still be valid as at the date of entry into US in January 30

Kindly help if your can.
My sis is trying to apply for b2 visa for childbirth in the US while her husband will apply for b1/b2 to join her after baby is born before they will all come back together. Her husband is sponsoring the trip and she is a stay at home wife, this is their first.
Now the question
Are they supposed to be interviewed together or will they book for interview separately ?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ogekad: 5:42pm On Jan 04, 2018
Hi beautyuche, compliments of the season. the only way your hubby will avoid going to the embassy is if he’s present when you are applying for the passport in the US or in Nigeria ie you return with Nigerian Passport otherwise he has to go to the embassy to get the notary.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ogekad: 5:46pm On Jan 04, 2018
Hello, I’m not sure they’ll give notary before child is born. You can get appointment date 2 weeks after your EDD.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Dollarsolution(m): 6:25pm On Jan 04, 2018
Either way is their choice, from my little experience, since he's obviously going to join soon after she gives birth, its better they apply together and boost madams moral/support been her first time and also it will save him the stress of having to come for his own interview again.
In fact for me booking together will be a better option as he plans to stay back for work/otherwise, this might give the VO the impression that ohh he has ties to his home country and would not run away.
my 1cent lol.

Compliments just finished my holidays back to the hustle...In my own contribution....DW and I where given visas on medical grounds around October 2015 she had a set of twins..interview,POE i was always in the forefront answering all the question althrough..We decided to go for 2weeks vacation in the in US August 2017 with DW,Twins and MIL..the next day after our arrival We went out for Indian cuisine with friends just as the food arrived DW started throwing up...i just but 1 and 2 together Omo DW was pregnant..i just encourage her to enjoy her vacation.we came back started preparing for dropbox since visas was expiring october 2017.I was granted DW was declined on 212g bases(called in for interview)...i could see it in her eyes she was scared cause i have always been the one forefront..(pls her transcript wasn't detailed)
Note all bills where paid she had LO's at Dallas
VO Good morning
DW good morning
VO : can i have your passport pls
DW handed him her passport
VO what you going to do in the States
DW to have my baby...had my babes in 2015 via a medical visa will like to continue with my O&G records
VO why did you lie you havent been to the UK but your travel history says you have been there(that threw DW off balance....after the interview i figured out maybe he was viewing my own transcript because its was a dropbox application and i was the primary applicant even during our previous interview i was asked i said no she was and she mention where she had been to which included UK)
DW i told the VO in 2015 i did
VO can i see your doctor correspondence and travel expense
DW she gave him both documents
VO ok Do you have proof of payment in your last delivery(i had packed all her document grouped them with a table of content attached to the front)
DW hands him all receipts ranging from pre natal to out patient pediatric visit(DW said he practically laid back and flipped all page one by one that alone took like 10mins)
VO he now brought out the out patient pediatric bill which was $100 per visit for each child he said is that all you paid that)
DW sincerely said yes( to me probably not knowing she needed to throw more light on that)
VO what do you do ?while typing
VO what does your husband do?still typing
VO sorry your not qualified bla bla bla..
Was waiting for her from a distance i saw her face i knew the rest ....she was very disappointed...i knew this was the point to build up her confidence...ie i reassured her it was fine should reapply again ..but this time she will need to fly to lagos
Note same documents just added LO's birth certificate and printed our joint account which i couldnt print out for her last interview...it had a fairly good turn over and i recently transferred 2mil from my company account for her PTA)
VO : can i have your passport pls
DW handed her passport to the vo
VO what you going to do in the US
DW to have my baby
VO why the US
DW primarly for my better healthcare and to give my child access to dual citizenship
VO ok what you do
DW xxxxx (guess this time she was more confident)
VO pls explain your roles
VO how much do you earn
VO what does your husband do
DW am in medical profession i have like 3 jobs/source of incomexxxxxxxx (guess she startled a bit)
VO do you have what this trip will cost you
DW hands her the budget sheet (ranging $15,000)
VO do you have proof you can afford this
DW she brings out our bank statement (joint account,my account then hers with about $2,700 from bank of America remaining dollars from our last trip)
VO she scans through then sees that 2million i paid from a company account she asked who paid this
DW my husband did
VO (her facial expression changed)who are your husband clientele
DW xxxxxxxx(i guess she startles)
VO sorry at this point bla bla bla
to be continued....
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by afrobrown2000: 3:13am On Jan 05, 2018
she called and told me about her transcript...i just said do you really want to give birth in US she said yes but she isnt applying again...i knew she wanted it more than i did,so just waited till she came back and cooled off...she opted to go for another interview.. we filled the form but this time i had to get a doctors letter to apply for the emergency appointment cause her EDD is March 7th..which was approved
Note no changes in documents just told her that every document has a story to tell and must correlate with one another..she should be more explanatory but precise
she went for bio-metrics wasn't looking too strong cause she got to lagos late due to delay flight and woke too early for appointment..the guy doing her bio-metrics was like hope your ok...she said am fine just exhausted...he reassured her she will be fine..then went on a queue
DW goodmorning how was your night rest
VO fine can i have your passport
VO what you going to do in the US
DW to give birth
VO have you contacted a doctor
DW yea sure have use him in my previous pregnancy
VO ooo!!!she looks at her computer that was in 2015
DW yea had a set of twins
VO how many times have been in the US
DW twice just came back from a vacation couple of months ago(she guessed she was seeing it from her profile)
VO do you plan to go alone
DW Yes but my DH already has a visa will come join me later close to me due date
VO she is still looking at the computer.can i have your husband visa page..She now said Why did you lie you were born in Cameroon in you last interview
VO dont argue with me
DW (my wife was calm)Pls your with my passport and it written there boldly place of birth Cameroon
VO (she looks at the passport )owww!!!Am really sorry it was my mistake pls can you give me a min to correct it...meanwhile(VO now finds out she was the one that interviewed my wife last)
DW ok feel free(DW knew she was the one but didnt know the same VO cant interview her twice)
VO Sorry once more but i cant continue with the interview(she calls on for her colleague to continue)
(Guess who the man she met at the bio-metrics)
VO2 (he looks at the computer)guess your going to give birth in the US pls where
DW Dallas Texas
VO@ do you have budget for this trip
DW hands over budget sheet
VO2 are you sure u can cover for this trip and if anything uneventful occurs
DW Yes here is my husband and I account statement
VO2 (he goes through)Who has bank of America statement and credit card
DW My husband does
VO2 this should help your pay your bills when you get to the US...your visa has been granted....
DW thank you

WOW, afrobrown2000 I like the fact that you didnt give up knowing fully well you deserve the visa and hasn't done anything wrong. Nice one
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Babatwi: 3:15pm On Jan 05, 2018
Are you saying that you originally applied for a tourism visa and decided to use it for birthing now? If that's the case, you have plenty work o. Since this is a do it yourself forum,I'll advice you to get a jotter and start reading, taking notes and making calls. Come clean at the interview by telling them your original intention,go prepared with Dr&hospital correspondence, budget sheet, bank statement to cover cost etc.
Worse case scenario, you can go the Elapse route and pay dresparatti and get correspondence from them since you don't have much time left.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Babatwi: 3:24pm On Jan 05, 2018
I must commend you for your support, because if you had discouraged her after the 2nd refusal, she would have given up,you were her main source of encouragement.Your story shows that determination and perseverance pays.
