I don't understand this post. Is it today that you're seeing policemen and soldiers use their bikes for commercial purposes. Seems the op is new in Lagos

If he is truly a policeman, it may not seem right but i can accept this compared to him staging illegal road block, extortion from stop and search etc.

Times are tough for most people and families.

But is that police Uniform as your headline alluded to? Don't forget there is a designer that's branded 'Police'

Others should follow, since there is no law restraining them instead of bothering motorist for #20 and #50 and opening fire on to those who did not cooperate.

So he decides to give you service for the N50 he collected from you, you're complaining. If he had collected with a gun at one checkpoint you will still complain. These men have families and relatives to take care of. Have you ever wondered the average salary of a police man? A policeman must have a side hustle to survive, it may be honest or diahonest. This one chose an honest one. Let's cut him some slack.

Policaman

OP, edit your title.

I'm surprised no one noticed it.

I am even more surprised it was carried to front-page like that. What is happening to nairaland?

There's nothing wrong in a grossly underpaid public servant hustling some side gigs to make ends meet. Although it is somewhat unprofessional to be doing that in police wears, I can still understand his rationale. No agbero (tout) would dare come near him for money if they know he's a 'staff'.

Make no mistake about it.

That OKADA must have been seized from one innocent OKADA MAN undecided

I don't see any thing wrong with that. It's just so that nobody can mess him up. And besides, that's just a police verse not their real uniform. So allow the man to huzzle in peace biko.

That's not even his official uniform and there is dignity in labor.

If he goes around to extort you guys with uniform now you'll be crying like goat.

For me, the man deserves praise. Not many police would do that. They would rather extort civilians

Not unlikely. Though any motorcyclist that allows his source of livelihood to be ceased without a fight may not be so innocent...
