As the year 2017 wraps up, it is now time for many to look back to headlines - especially funny ones that kept us entertained in the course of the year. In no particular order, below are my 8 wonders of the almost departed 2017. Feel free to add yours

(1). When the almighty Mugabe was peacefully and surely ousted from office like kilode, and his wife was said to have ran away. Shoot bird, im mama fly

(2). When Lagos State government decided to unveil a Fela statue in honour of the legend. The talking point here is not actually the sweetness in the gesture, but in the fact that the statue was headless. It was made the more funny when it was claimed that the constructor was just unwilling to take the risk of not getting the face right.

(3). The IPOB craze.
So something so intense could just disappear within the twinkle of an eye okay. So, the agitation for a Biafra State gathered serious momentum under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, after his conditional release from prison and there was chants like "the zoo must fall", etc everywhere, both online and offline. Well, this just happened to quickly go down the drain. This, of course, was due to the reaction of the NA. Operation python dance was launched and that was all.

(4). When Wiz kid beat the likes of Drake, Jay Z, etc to a category of the mobo awards. This achievement was heart lifting though, as it prompted the presidency, as well as top politicians like the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar to send congratulatory messages.

(5). The P Square brothers continued their "cut and join" saga.
The amiable twins separated once again, though its looking like there's no going back on it.

(6). A year of hurricanes.
Though this is in a sad category, the year was plagued by several hurricanes named as Mathew, Irma, etc.

(7). 'mber' fuel queues didn't disappoint.
Fuel queue in the Christmas festive season is now becoming a norm as Nigerians all had their fair share of the difficulties associated with the scarcity in this period.

I'm sure that with this, there will be no calling out, 'frog voice' jibes, etc in 2018
