According to information, its an African civet cat not a leopard. And it should have been taken to a zoo not killed.
Local vigilante on Wednesday morning, killed a large civet cat, at Fanalou Street, Off Country Home Motel Road, Ugbor, GRA, Benin City, Edo State.

I hope they have not killed the only Hyena that is in Benin Zoo because Nigerians like killing animals no matter how little or big it is for food.

These animals should migrate to urban areas, where they stand a greater chance of survival.

Peasants in rural areas have become the greatest threat to the existence of rare wildlife creatures.

The agency for wildlife conservation should kick off awareness campaign, enlightening people in the rural areas on the danger of killing rare creatures like the civet cat, the serval cat, the monitor lizard, and so on.

surely this animal did not come out of the zoo, it looks well fed. if they took it to the zoo it would wish it was killed.

If a child sees a lion at ogba zoo and sees one in reality s/he wouldn't know its dsame animal.
