Thank you for your contributions

I agree with you... we are only looking for a solution. Some of the people who go through all this are not the politicians who are untouchable...they are the average citizens. I know Nigeria is terribly currupt!!! Which is sad...but we can start from somewhere...
The people who suffer are not the thieves who have stolen from every citizen in the name of politics and made the youths suffer.

And really no embassy in Nigeria should maltreat Nigerians.

well until a revolution occurs u will float that wish for a long while...

The masses u crying for now wouldn't even accept ur appointment if u were given a chance to wipe their tears or alleviate their perpetual sufferings as it were...

Reasons u have no bribe,godfather and u aren't a known billionaire figure..

An average Nigerian has pull him syndrome...

I suggest u use ur energy to canvass for a revolution then we rebuild from scratch...

I can perfectly relate to what you are saying; i'm really surprise that lady is still at that embassy.

I then wanted to write a petition to the Philippine consular officer on that lady and copy appropriate gov't authority; more sad is that she's a Nigerian (Akwa-ibom/Calaber).

She literally insults everyone, students and their guardians inclusive

Everyone who has experienced any sort of abuse should report immediately so that it will be exposed. She is there because most people do not know their right. She has no right to insult anyone!

Hmmmmmm. The lady is doing her job as instructed. If you're a genuine applicant and you comply with the requirements nobody will insult u. Those plple complaining are the criminals disguise as a genuine applicant most of them are in prison in Philippine.

And as for Mr KAYODE. He's doing his job. Check Philippine visa requirements.. It's stated that u shouldn't GIVE Bribe to Anybody. But those who talk about Bribe are fake applicants and With FAKE Documents.

WHAT A SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of this fake applicants had their way and they get arrested in Philippine.

WHAT IS A NIGERIAN GOING TO DO IN THE PHILIPINES ??

THE COUNTRY IS VERY POOR, THEREFORE A NIGERIAN CANNOT CLAIM TO BE GO TO A GREENIER PASTURE.

NIGERIANS SHOULD MAKE AN EFFORT TO STUDY AND UNDERSTAND SOME OF THESE COUNTRIES THEY TRY TO RUN TO BECAUSE MANY OF THESE COUNTRIES ARE WORSE OFF THAN NIGERIA.

This is the principal problem!

Philippines is poor and corrupt and it is still shaped and haunted by the ghost of Fidel Marcos who oppressed and pauperised this once thriving country. Just like the present Nigeria was and is shaped by the endemic corruption and mediocrity of the Babangida years.

Filipinos are probably the most famous of economic migrants in the world and they migrants here who work was househelps.

Simply thinking any non-black country is prosperous is akin to thinking that Libya is a paradise! A paradise indeed!

He's an experienced man in his Field and he knows the genuine applicants from fake ones with Fake Documents. And when they come to the Embassy with Fake Documents... They will be exposed right from the gate.

you have to wonder why they are actually going there --is it cheaper or do they have ulterior motives --like a gateway to malaysia.

Nigerians are common in their marine transportation colleges in the Philippines but it is also a known fact that many of these kids end up in malaysia committing crimes.

I have been to manila and some of the other major cities in the Philippines --they do have great beaches ,but this is a third world country with poor infrastructure and a poor standard of living.

Instead of fighting at the Philippine embassy ,they would be well served if they could show such anger at the national assembly and insist of a better deal for the Nigerian student.

Sir, most students going to Philippine wants to study either medicine or Nursing. They were denied admission to study particularly ( medical course in Nigeria)

If the government can build more medical schools it would ease off a bit.

My friend, security guards (all Nigerians) at these foreign missions often treat applicants without respect. Not only at these missions, you often see this sort of mentality everywhere and everyday, especially at govt offices. That gate-keeper mentality; "without me you can't succeed." It's wrong. Is it his duty or consular officer's job to determine fraudulent applications?

Lol. You guys are funny. It is ok when you do it to yourselves but not when others do it to you. This is the danger of you letting policemen stand in the middle of traffic to collect bribe and not do anything about it. It is the repercussion for letting your citizens burn suspects in the streets and think it is the right thing to do. You think the outside world do not have internet? They do. They know Nigerians are corrupt as phuck so why shouldn't they play you with your own rules? They know you guys treat each other like trash and have zero respect for one another so why should they respect you? Guess what? They wouldn't dare do it to an American, German, Swiss, Canadian, and i dare say, Ghanaian. You know why? Because they know the citizens of these countries act mostly like human beings and deserve respect. Nigerians? Not so much. And keep blaming your leaders for your woes as if they are the problem.
You Made Sense, until your Last sentence. The Problem of Africa/blacks is Bad leadership.

What is the definition of Democracy? "Government of the people, by the people, for the people". Of the people. Meaning the citizens pick among themselves people to lead and or represent them. Here's what has be proven through history; When a people that are as bad as Nigerians exists to form a country, they can never have good leaders. This is evidenced through your history. Bad people=bad leaders=bad country. And the worst thing is you never take responsibility for your actions thereby denying yourselves the opportunity to learn from your mistakes. It is always the leaders fault. Did Nigerians not know how inept Buhari was before voting for him? All they cared about was their greed and the 5k. Who's fault is it now that Atiku is being touted to become the next president? Who's fault is it that Malaye, Tinubu, Saraki, Fayose flaunt their ill gotten wealth and Nigerians support him? Who's fault is it that you guys collect salt and garri, and now lipton and gala before you vote? I can't believe i have to explain this. And lastly, Awo and Zik were regional leaders who only affected their regions. You see how sad it is that you could only name two regional leader in over half a century. Sad

Again slow down. You have to understand that the Younger Generation we're Born into this black Madness and have Not been able to Independently contribute in Building the Country.

Again i say, the people already in power decide Who Rules..Not the majority of the Citizens.

Buhari was brought back after More than 30years by this Same people. And If He doesnt please them...Atiku would be The next President!

I do agreed with you that Nigerians are corrupt, and deserve the Kind of Leaders they get...but you should Not shy away from the fact that the very Leaders who started this rot, are still shaping the destinies of Millions of Nigerians.

There IS a reason they are referred to as Leaders...they are supposed to Set the Standard. But when they dont, you have a Nigeria!

I See you mentioned 5 and salt...i Said in my First reply that keeping the Population poor is one of the Dreams of afro-leaders...it is a very effective tool!

For Nigerians to consider going to the Philippines to study, a state of emergency should be declared on the education sector. grin

There are thousands of Nigerians living there doing their usual stuff, which is why we still require a visa for a visit while many of our neighbors don't.We have messed up reputation in Asia.

Due to various reason with the Higher education in Nigeria
Nigerian student have been trooping into the Philippines for their university studies in thousands!!!!
1. Nigerians are required to apply for visas and as of today pay an application fee of 15000naira which goes into the Philippines account.

2. They have to authenticate their documents at the foreign affairs in Manila, Philippines WHICH COST alot of money and in turn helps the Philippines economy

3. Various other things they have to pay for when they arrive , to study in the Philippines which means the Philippines is in turn is benefiting from the Nigerians.

The Nigerians are treated like Animals at the Philippines embassy in Gwarimpa Abuja, Nigeria
The gate men at the Philippines embassy Abuja Nigeria have the audacity to ask for bribes from citizens that obviously do not know their right. A gate man has no right to even look at your documents!

There is a lady also who is supposed to check for documents but instead abuse the Nigerians who go to the embassy. she calls them all sorts of names.
Her job is just to check the documents!!!!!

please I'M not here to questions about why Nigerians go to study in the Philippines but to be in the shoes of the Nigerian who are treated badly at the embassy

I went there myself just to understand the complains I have received. i personally do not need a visa to go to the Philippines but my attention was called on this, and i would like to get people to share their experience to please drop a message here so that people can be aware in Nigeria about what Nigerians are experiencing at the Philippines embassy Abuja Nigeria!!!.

it is the right of every human being to be treated well and respected and this case should be treated seriously

Thank you. please share this and post if you have ever been affected or heard anything about this

Re: Abuse And Collecting Bribes At The Philippines Embassy Gwarimpa, Abuja Nigeria by Chalaji080: 6:13am On Jan 02, 2018
Philippines education system is far better than Nigeria education system most especially in IT, medical and engineering field. Most medical doctors and nurses working in US and middle east are filipinos. The worst public university in philippines is better than best public university in Nigeria. In philippines the average size of students per lecture is between 20 to 30. Which public university in nigeria has such size? Every university has research center. They dont experience strike. Their labs are well equiped. The language of teaching in all schools is English. Their public universities are free tuition but is difficult for a foreigner to be admitted into public univerisities there. People travel to philippines for study because is cheaper compare to US and Europe yet they have almost same standard. In terms of practicals, a graduate from Nigeria university cant withstand a graduate from philippines especially in Engineering field.

So if you dont have knowledge of a country do reseach before writing rubbish about the country. Filipinos working in Nigeria as exparts. People that say that philippines is very poor, do you know that the minimum wage in philippines is 350peso per day which 2520naira per day. Calculate that per month. They travel alot to other countries for work because the jobs available in philippines are limited and also they earn more. Most filipinos that work in restaurants in Nigerian and as maid are paid not less than 400usd per month. You can verify that. So you people should stop blaming people traveling to philippines for study. I lived in philippines for 4yrs so i should tell you guys better even though im no longer there. I also want to let you know that 80% of Nigerian that travel to other countries engage in illegal businesses and crime whereas 95% of filipinos that travel to other countries has good jobs because they are skillful. Thats why most countries grant them visa free. To some other countries they need visa, they dont struggle for visa the way we Nigerians do.

Finally, in term of GDP, philippines is richer than Nigeria. Nigeria is a very poor country. Is only individuals hat have money in Nigeria. As a country Nigeria is poor

Apology Accepted. You are right, a lot of people here dont argue with reasons, they are either frustrated or playing religious/ethnic card

At this point, a working Nigeria sounds like a mirage. The system is faulty and has been for so long. I would say the institutions have to be fixed, so that regardless of who comits a crime, justice is delivered. The judiciary is a mess. Law inforcement agencies should have some Independence, and work for the people...not politicians.

There are lots of ills in Nigeria and lack of accountability has deteroriated the system. This needs to be reversed.

Another big Problem is the worship of money. Again this is one of the results of a failed system. Everybody is looking to Break away from poverty. People do unimaginable things for money...which also include the 5k you mentioned.

To be honest it is going to be difficult because the politicians do Not want a Change in the Status quo. They only know how Not to obey the law...or obey when they want...the people have copied them, compounding the Problem.

Strong institutions are needed to restructure the mindset of Nigerians and hold people Accountable for their deeds.
