Gov Wike Roundabout Kills 3 At Garrison Ph by Vuvuzela101: 10:59pm On Jan 05, 2018
Three people in a car were burnt beyond recognition in the early hours of today, Thursday, at Garrison Roundabout, Port Harcourt -Aba Expressway, Port Harcourt, the Rivers capital after hitting the concrete slabs of the controversial roundabout.

The roundabout is controvesial because of the criticisms that attended its creation. Motorists and concerned road users in the state capital had criticised the construction of the roundabout as an engineering misnormer, arguing that what the ever busy junction needs is a flyover or a boulevard as is seen in other states. The penchant of Governor Nyesom Wike to contruct roundabouts to deconject traffic has earned him the title, “Mr. Roundabout”.

However, it was opened to traffic about the first week of December last year.

It was not clear when the accident happened but out reporter observed that there were still flickers of fire and smoke when he visited the scene at about 6.30 am today.

Scores of Policemen and officers of the Federal Road Safety.Corps,FRSC,were already at the scene of the charred vehicle, while a corpse of unidentified person burnt beyond recognition were lying beside the vehicle.

Three Police trooper vehicles and two FRSC men were already at accident scene to ensure free flow of traffic at the time of filing the rereport.

APC always playing politics wherever they are in opposition. Always trying to benefit from blood and misfortune. Wake is now the driver of the car, right?
That is how their boss then was directly campaigning for Boko Haram then.

Boko Haram should be given amnesty like Niger delta militants.

Fight against Boko Haram is fight against the North.

Boko Haram should be dialogue with instead of using force on them.
All of the above were what their presidential candidate said then and he never openly condemned them then because he liked what they were doing.

That newly constructed roundabout at Garrison is a deathtrap , especially for night drivers. How can you build a roundabout with out expanding tge road appropriately in a high speed highway?

was it the roundabout that was driving the vehicle ? or a careless driver that was over speeding, we should be very careful what we wish for, when the first post came it stated "3 burnt to death in car accident in Rivers state" now it Wike's roundabout that is killing them, what is wrong in having a roundabout there, dont you have one at rumuokoro, rumukuta, maybe when the next gov comes in he can decide to put a fly over there. APC Allow this man rule in peace wait for your turn, all this will not help you guy, your people at the center or Federal Govt. are not performing well, fulani heradsmen and boko haram are taking lives on a daily basis, I do not see raise a post to that effect but you are so fast to do that for the ones in Rivers state

N20bn Fraud: EFCC detains macmillan boss

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained a contractor with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Prof. Adesanya Adelekan, in connection with alleged N20billion textbooks and science equipment fraud.

The anti graft agency has also restricted the movement of a former Executive Secretary of the UBEC, Mr.Suleiman Dikko, to the country, pending the conclusion of the ongoing probe.

But the detention of the contractor was considered a breakthrough for the commission after failure to provide evidence of contract earlier.
