There was an explosion this morning at a local gas retail shop at Iluda Road, Ajara Vetho in Badagry Local Government. The explosion, which happened at about 9:00 this morning was suspected to have been caused by excessive heat on the cylinders which were locked up in the shop.
The force of the explosion was so strong the walls of the shop collapsed and innocent passers - by were affected. According to our reporter, human flesh could be seen on roof tops and on the street. Two corpses were still lying in a gutter near by. A commercial okada rider and his passenger were said to have been badly affected.
Men of the Lagos State Fire Service were being helped by the Neighborhood Safety Corps and others to put the situation under control.
