The fear of thieves should not be an impediments to government policies and programs. We have police and security trust fund set aside to deal with thieves.

Good one, Gov Ambode. Someone has to clean up this mess. Lagos can't be a huge slum any more. Hard not to feel for the cart pushers but u can't make omelets without breaking eggs. Collateral damage can sometimes be unavoidable

Northern PDP supporters need to sensitise their region on the calamities going on in this APC government. The rates of criminality will increase, some of these cart pushers are relocating to other states. In ph here new faces of cart pushers in our estates everyday.

three:
Greed

Ambode signed a PPP with an entity that is not known anywhere in the world for waste management.

Somebody (in the right circle) appears to have had a brainwave.

We can corner waste management in Lagos, all we have to do is get the State assembly to decree that each house must pay.

Then we float a bond (invest state funds in the name of private individuals & private entities)

Then we seat back and ENJOY the flow of money.

Problem is bond was under subscribed.

Lagos need 1500 compactors (they've just brought in about 50)

One compactor costs in the region of N70m (without import duty).

That's somewhere in the region of N105B

They simply don't have that kind of money (yet)

Which is why they've quietly called back some PSPs

Pure unadulterated Greed...

Meanwhile the compactors belonging to the operators of the old LAWMA-PSP arrangement lie around idle. Ambode has lost it on this. Totally! I daresay it cant even be salvaged. Not with this greed driven dream.

My sista,

On this matter, Ambode should GEEEERRRRRROOOOOOOOUUUUUTTTT!!!!!!!!!!

He messed up big time in the area of cleanliness of Lagos; Lagos is now way much dirtier than it ever was from Tinubu's era to date. Fashola methodically created a process that worked. Fashola had outlawed the Cart-pushers way back, yet Ambode watched as they sneaked back. He dismantled the framework Fashola put on ground, replacing with his own "imported from the US" style which has hardly taken off the ground. Street sweepers are moved from expressway to supposed inner roads, to pave way for mechanised sweeping vehicles, yet highways are not any cleaner. This same proposal Fashola rejected. Fashola said he cannot take jobs from 30,000 sweepers and replace them with machines. Waste collector services in my Estate are now practically erratic. They claim they are not sure if govt wants to keep them or fire them. We have to follow up with calls as waste pile up on or front yards

Ambode better get his acts in order and fire is commissioner for environment if need be. Lagos is getting dirtier

Im sure the Lagos state government has a waste management company where these guys can be recruited to sort out different kinda waste. Sort out plastic from papers and other stuff. You ban okada, ban danfo, ban truck pushers, ban street hawkers and some people are chanting itesiwaju eko. After same people will come to NL or go on twitter to start stupid threads of how their mirrors were broken and phones and belongings stolen while driving in traffic.

Nobody is saying anything about the touts shouting 'owo mi da' and collecting illegal money from people who are working hard and which the mumu govt still intends to ban. I don't see how a govt with a functioning brain will be banning people who are working to make a living and encourage touts and armed robbers who are raping, stealing and constituting all forms of nuisance. So the agberos are better than the danfo drivers, truck pushers, okada riders and street hawkers? itesiwaju eko indeed. They can only fool their blind followers.

Go back to hour region, werey

Hi, fellow NairaLanders.
I seriously need help from you guys.
I noticed that any month in which we have seriously bad electric supply, the PHCL/NEPA staff brings bills that’s not like the usual type. It looks like photocopy from the suppose original one. They probably make this photocopies and distribute (without the consent of the management). They say “the printing machine is faulty”. This happens whenever we had a month of very bad power supply, like last December.
Pls. what do I do. I believe something illegal is on.
