Hello Car Gurus. Check In Here by Gracesofar(m): 10:37pm On Jan 20, 2018
Hi car gurus,
I HV dz issue with my car. It all started when I was going for a colleagues sword crossing at Osun state. The car didn't HV any issue beforehand and the truth is I made sure I serviced it before the trip. Even though the car rarely go on long journeys. The issue started when I reached lokoja. For no reason it slowed down and no matter how much I gonhard on the gas its just making roaring sound with little or no reaction from the movement. I battled with it for like 5 minutes and in what looks like a miracle, the car came back to normal and started like their was ntin wrong with it beforehand.

While coming back, between Ilesha and Akure it repeated this same madness and in a short while it did came back to normal again. Anyway, when I reached my station back I was chatting with a colleague who told me he has a mechanic I can use who he kinda trust and his very good with Toyota

I gave the junior colleague and instructed him to take the car to the so called specialist. Anyway the guy came back and said its gear issue etc which he said the guy z gonna fix with less than 15k. I did give him the money and the car was kinda OK afterwards. Not less than a week afterwards the issue got bigger, the car started doing over-heating, hardly speed but goes on a very snail speed even when am kinda aggressive with the gas pedal etc. In fact last sunday during padre hours I was so embarrassed when the car took forever to engage the reverse gear.
So I called the soldier and told him to take it back to the mechanic. He came back said some words and I gave him the money again to repair it. This time just 5k.

Buh there has been no difference ever since. Now the problem z getting bigger. Even though the power steering oil z up to date. The steering do go stiff most times, it rarely accelerate to a greater velocity, it overheats easily, and even when I lock the doors firmly it still indicate the door light on the dash board.

Any experienced Nlander or a car specialist.

The car is a toyota Camry popularly called muscle Camry. Its barely 4 month old sef

I tot it was gear issue too but the confusion is when the car do display some unnecessary light on the dash board, gvs me a reason to think its some wiring problem or smfin coz the first mechanic said he fixed smfin on the gear and apart I once used a baby boy some years back as a teenager that had gear issue all I do then is to put it on N and immediately shiftbit back to D2 and the car will go perfectly but this one won't just accelerate and it does lots of over heating.

I pray its not gear issue

I have the same stuff steering, it's just slightly stiff but it's there. At first i noticed the power steering oil was dry after a/c guy brought it back but after topping it up, it's not back to normal. Even a/c guy scammed me, said it was evaporator he wanted to change for 50k, after changing it, he said it's compressor that is bad. Can't deal with both the a/c guy and the mechanic that introduced me to him now.

@ Obekediamondfuto, thanks.

@ OP, get the vehicle scanned & properly diagnosed, you can also post the results here for further information.

If you were within my locality, it would have earned you a free diagnosis, but Enugu is 2hrs from here.
