Malami Obtains Court Order Stopping National Assembly

The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami has obtained a court order stopping the National Assembly from investigating the clandestine reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina, the former Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Pension Reform into the Federal Civil Service.

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, granted the interim order.

Maina who has been declared wanted by both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and INTERPOL, was dismised from the civil service in 2013 after he was indicted in a N2 billion fraud.

‘Why Are You Running Around The Courts To Stop Maina’s Probe?’ – Senate Asks Malami

His reinstatement into the civil service in October 2017 caused an uproar and after much public outcry, President Buhari ordered his dismissal from the service and for an investigation to be carried out on how he was reinstated.

The Senate on October 24th 2017, mandated its committees on public service, internal affairs, anti-corruption, establishment and judiciary to probe the circumstances of Maina’s return to the country and the public service.

The Attorney General appeared before the panel on November 15th and denied any involvement in Maina’s reinstatement. Malami then approached the court to determine if the Senate has the power to investigate the employment, disengagement, attendance, reinstatement and/or promotion of a civil servant.

The court today granted his wish. See the court paper as shared by Sahara Reporters below

expecting to see defenders of pmb's corrupt practice give their usual obtuse defence...

mind you all, the plaintiff is the Minister of Justice in his capacity as Minister of the FRN...

which means the push to stop this probe has the FULL backing of the president...

or will pmb take the 'I don't know what is happening' excuse again?

clowns in power supported by an army of e-cretins...
