We should all remember that philosophy is the mother of all sciences. It was for academic convience that is broken down into other discipline. However, Political Science was coined out of philosophy ( formerly known as Political Philosophy). The rudimentary definition of philosophy is the love of wisdom and to understand politics you have to trace the philosophical work of past scholars like Plato, Aristotle, Socrates who gave earlier political thought on Greece political system.
