Where does all the monies generated by National Union of Road Transport Workers ( NURTW ) go to? Some said a large chunk of these fees forcefully collected from commercial drivers goes to state governments and that is why it is difficult to ban them. How true is that?

That is a very good question, and the answer is the money is shared by the official nothing goes to the local government or state that is why they will kill for anyone for its chairmanship position, I once had a bus driver who became the state chairman God this man became bastardly rich with cars houses and chieftency title.

It goes to the private pockets of the refined and biro touts in govt that allow their cause trouble at every bus stop in lagos.

Why can't the government ban them and the remittance by the commercial bus drivers goes in to the govt finance as tax?

that isnt totally true, the state gives an individual a unit/zone as the case maybe, he is given a set target, he recruits boys to work for him, the boys get the fund and remit till it gets to the head, the head takes deducts target, take to govt, the excess is for him with other perks attached.
NB: the boys are also given target by the chairman/head, thats why you hear some saying their money never complete or e don reach excess.
