The world interestingly eats more farmed fish than the one gotten through traditional fishing. The problem, Nigerian are not by choice natural eaters in the first place of cold fished fish. Their natural preference is for beef. It was a worsening economy from the 1980's that compelled Nigerians to abandon meat for cheaper fish. Eating of frozen fish was associated with poor teachers in the past. Now, the local fish that is to replace it, will it be cheaper than the frozen fish? I very much doubt just by looking at the price of fresh catfish. Very soon people will eat cake since there's no bread |
