Akwa Ibom State Government, Under Gov. Udom Emmanuel Is currently intensifying effort to complete the renewal of Eket Metropolis with a wide Array of projects to bring the long forgoten Oil city in the Niger delta up to par with a 21st century,despite the current economic recession in the country.

The renewal projects include :
1.Widening and dualization of major road arteries within the city metropolis.
2. Building of major flood/ storm drainage systems and underground sewage channelization.
3. Building of a major leisure park at the city center like the ibom plaza in uyo and raffia city park at ikot ekpene.
4. Construction of a new 15,000 all seater + covered Stadium At the site of the present Eket Sports Stadium.
5. construction of a Modern Market.
6.Internal roads/ streets construction.
and many more.

It is interesting to note that a 24 km Dualized road linking the city of Eket to the Atlantic Coastal Area Of Ibeno was completed last quarter of 2017 and in use, currently making access to the picturesque Ibeno beach easy, and open for tourism.

The stadium already unneccessay in my opinion. It's just long string of unneccessay projects like church and Lagos logde. It's pure vanity to act in that manner. Nobody wanted him to change name of stadium in uyo but the fat lipped stooge did it while the crowd watched him in silence.

Was in Eket last week Monday and seriously that town need a major construction especially as it has to do with the houses in the town.
Houses in that town need to be brought down and beautiful ones built.

The town doesn't even look like a place with an oil company operating.

All the local government in Akwa Ibom are currently enjoying well spread projects despite lack of funds.
may 23 will see the completion of over 40 major roads in the state , according to the state govt.

This govt unlike the previous one is not advertizing all its projects.
do you know that this govt has connected Akwa ibom state to two different towns in Abia state?
Ekewre Azu and Arochukuw in Abia State has been linked to two different LGA in Akwa Ibom by road for the first time in history. project 90% expected to open may 2018. but citizens have already started using the roads. The Traditional ruler of Arochukwu, Abia State Gave Gov. Udom a chieftaincy title to celebrate and appreciate him for the road Dec 2017.

what does Eket need a stadium for? has the one in Uyo been fully utilized? what is happening to the Ibaka seaport that is an economically viable project?
all these cosmetic pathetic projects with no basic added value to people"s life sef.
