Top 20 Safest Campuses In Nigeria- what do you think? by Emmypet: 1:59pm On Feb 01, 2018
With the ever increasing rate of insecurity in our campuses, we thought it necessary to carry out some basic research on the safest campuses in Nigeria.

When ranking these campuses, key factors came into mind which include cultism, rape, violence against women, sexual assault, armed robbery and other anti-social activities such as drinking, smoking, taking of drugs etc are considered.

As we all know, safety remains the priority of every human being on earth. Any student (local or foreign) looking for admission into Nigerian universities should like to know the safest campuses in the country.

These top 20 safest campuses below would put mummy and daddy at ease:-

American University of Nigeria, Yola
Covenant University, Ota
Igbinedion University, Okada
National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)
University of Lagos, Akoka

I think most private universities are generally equally safe. And of course the private universities are more safer than public universities because they are usually fully residential with limited interactions with their host communities. We can also give credit to private universities with CCTV network... But I wouldn't believe that Unilag is more safer than say Nile or Landmark University because Unilag isn't fully residential.

Lastly to even do a ranking like this there are so many parameters you would even need to consider apart from visiting those universities physically to see the security apparatus they have in place. Universities whose gates not connected directly to Road highways are usually safer.

Smaller universities are usually more safer than larger ones because operatives can easily tell a student from a stranger.
