In a way. It's not dependent on phone numbers for messaging. But we are more used to what's app.

I prefer telegram to what'sapp.

whatsapp abused us too many times with forced phone upgrades i personally have begin to hate it.
if enough of my friends download telegram im ditching this sewage whatsapp
