But not at the crazy prices i'm seeing here in Nigeria. I mean, isn't it enough to slap $100 on the price as profit? People are talking prices of around N170k for the $499 16GB version.

\there's always massive price gouging from a few silly people hoping to make a quick buck.

The iPad is nowhere near sold out. All Apple stores and a significant number of best Buy stores are loaded with the devices. Plus the 3G version comes out in a couple of days.

As i said before, it's price gouging. It's hard enough to justify the cost of a giant iPod touch without being made to pay twice the price.
