Don't really know the name...the insect smells a lot sha,it releases a gas in the abdomen region when u mistakenly match or press the insect.

O well, I don't know the name @Op, but if you are looking for a way of getting rid of them let me know.

Let get you something that will keep unwanted visitors away from your house and environment be it wall gecko, rodents, any kind of insects and reptiles at all.

the name is 'Ogba Nne na Nwa' a very bad smell that can make you even vomit. The smell last up to two days wen killed

Yes yes yes!!

I killed it with my hands and it turned red and bloodied. I wished to post it but the pic won't load. The stain is yet to go away.

Find the source and destroy it. Even if you kill the onces in the house more will come. Try to look around and see if you can find a source.

After a good Google search I found out its a bombardier beetle.

A bombardier beetle.

It engages in thermo- chemical warfare
as an offensive & defensive attitude.

The intensive chemical smell when
it's killed is part of hydrogen peroxide
used in its catalytic mix.

Is there a thick forest near your house.?
This insect is a forest insect, and not an underground insects like ants and termites.
Neither are the domestic insects like cockroaches and bugs.

Our house is close to the bush, houses are still undergoing construction In my area.
