We have always believed that high intake of alcohol, cigarette, junks and preserved foods are the most common factors which affects negatively the human health. But sometime last year I came across the video attached to this blog post which described sedentary lifestyle as lifestyle that is constantly killing us.
Sedentary lifestyle is an inactive lifestyle that confines one to a position of reduced movement either at work or from conditions of ill health and old age. A sedentary lifestyle is also seen as a type of lifestyle with little or no physical activity. A person living a sedentary lifestyle is often sitting or lying down while engaged in an activity like reading, socializing, watching television, playing video games, or using a mobile phone/computer for much of the day.
Globally, 1 in 4 adults aren’t moving enough, according to the World Health Organization. And even if you think you’re an active person, you might be spending just enough time in front of your TV when you’re not at the gym to be putting your health at risk. Studies have shown that an individual should participate in a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate exercise, or 75 minutes of a more vigorous regimen. Most health professionals has said that walking 10,000 steps a day (approximately 5 miles) is the ideal goal to set for improving health and reducing the health risks caused by inactivity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 60 to 85% of the population worldwide does not engage in enough activity. Making physical inactivity the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality. A situation where one gets down to work on a consistent sitting position for most period of the working hours and possibly engrossed with the computer or some forms of engagements, it becomes a serious health hazard.

THANKS FOR THIS HEALTH TIPS.... THE MOST PAINFUL THING IS THAT MANY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD TODAY NEVER SAW INACTIVE LIFESTYLE AS ROADWAY TO DESTRUCTION BUT RATHER SEES IT AS ENJOYMENT... ONE OF THE DANGER OF A SEDENTARY LIFE STYLE IS THAT IT LEADS TO ACCUMULATION OF FATS, THEN GROW TOBECOME OVERWEIGHT TO OBESED TO HIGH BLOOD PRESURE TO STROKE AND OF COURSE TO DEATH.
I'LL ENCOURAGE US ALL TO TAKE TIME TO ENGAGE IN ACTIVE BOUT OF EXERCISE, MORE WALKING HOURS TO SITTING AND DOING MORE OF DOMESTIC CHORES.
THANKS
