All the teams obviously had to be subjected to CAF testings even after they all did theirs. Benin have been found out. They were boasting about how small our team was but now see their fate. They didn't conduct an honest MRI screening exercise. For Nigeria, only one or rather two were left out after CAF checks so for me, there is no alarms at all. Let the Qualifiers begin... We have Burkina faso and CIV then since Benin is out of the picture.

Benin U17 team has been disqualified from the competition for registering 10 overaged players according to CAF MRI test.

Nigerian U17 skipper was also disqualified. We now have 15 outfield players & 3 keepers. Niger too had one player disqualified. Are you sure we can win this competition?

Republic of Benin Taunt Golden Eaglets: Your Boys Are Too Small, We'll Beat Them Silly

Republic of Benin have boasted that they will thrash the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria when they clash at the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Republic of the Niger.

The Benin U-17 players shared the same flight with the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria en route Niamey on Friday 31st August, 2018.

Though the Nigeria vs Republic of Benin game is the last fixture of Group B, Beninese FA Vice President Didavi Bruno could not hold back his excitement as he fired a salvo at the Nigerian contingent.

''We are on fire, your boys are too small, we will beat them silly. Your boys are small-small boys, we are pepper,'' the thick and roundly looking official boasted among other things.

Nigeria Golden Eaglets players and officials did not give a response but smiled while they seemed focused on their journey.

Meanwhile the Golden Eaglets are focused on winning their first game against Burkina Faso on Monday, September 3.

Don't mind them. I am sure we would have beaten their papas even if CAF had left them. Lol... But cheating is wrong and must be punished. So kudos to CAF. Benin's own is really much. Shows they either didn't conduct a thoroughly honest MRI screening test or their MRI experts are olodos. Lol

The Golden Eaglets skipper and a right fullback of Nigeria has failed the MRI age test in Niger Republic

The Eaglets presently now have only fifteen outfield players and three goalkeepers eligible for the qualifiers.

The Eaglets would have to produce 10 other players for the MRI scan before they picked a final 20-man squad for the qualifiers.

Coach Manu Garba had insisted his team had passed the MRI in flying colours in Abuja after it was reported that as many of 15 of 40 players failed the test.

Benin Republic are already on their way back home after they were disqualified from the U17 AFCON competition as 10 of their players failed the age test .

Cote d’vioire are the other team in Group B following the disqualification of Benin.

Their opening campaign is set for tomorrow afternoon by 4pm against Burkina Faso.

Definitely some of the players who helped the team get several of these results before the MRI tests have been disqualified. But post-MRI, the team played about two or three more games and still won convincingly. Wishing them the best in Niger as they are executing the qualifiers with 18 players now, 15 outfields and 3 goalies

Nigeria U17 Coach Manu Garba Encouraged By Golden Eaglets Attack With 138 Goals In 26 Games

Nigeria U17 manager Manu Garba is confident that the national team will qualify for the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations after pointing out they are an attacking threat, having averaged 5.3 goals per game in friendly games ahead of the zonal qualifiers in the Republic of Niger.

Five-time champions, Nigeria, will begin their campaign against Burkina Faso at Stade Municipal, Niamey on Monday, and Garba says they have prepared well for the tournament.

''I am somebody who is always optimistic, I believe in destiny and we believe we have worked very hard, prepared very well,'' said Manu Garba.

''All we need from Nigerians is for them to pray for this team, we in turn will do all our best to make sure we win all our matches and by winning all our matches, we are sure of picking the sole ticket to qualify for the Nations Cup.''

Manu Garba added : ''We have played about 26 matches, scoring 138 goals, conceding 16, this goes to show that we have a very formidable young side, young side in the sense that most of these boys have passed the MRI which is an eligibility factor for them to partake in this competition.

''Most importantly, we are very focused for our first game which will come up on September 3 against Burkina Faso.''

Nigeria will also lock horns with Ivory Coast (September 6) and Republic of Benin (September 9-NOW Disqualified) in Group B of WAFU-UFOA Zone B qualifiers for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

Disqualification of Atletico Madrid target Sani Abacha Suleiman ‘very big blow’ for Eaglets

The disqualification of Golden Eaglets skipper Sani Abacha, who is on the wanted list of Atletico Madrid, has been described as “a very big blow” for the country’s chances at the zonal U17 AFCON qualifiers in Niger.

The other Nigeria player disqualified after the age test in Niger is midfielder Saviour Johnson Isaac.

“Sani Abacha’s absence is a very big blow to the Eaglets because he is the team’s best player so much so that the coaches were ready to take the risk to take him to Niger even when his MRI scan was on the border line,” a top source close to the team informed SCORENigeria

“They do not even have a cover for him in this team.”

Sani Abacha could play either as a defender or midfielder and he is from the Galadimawa Academy in Abuja.

He has also posted a stint at the famous Abuja Football College, who have now relocated to Port Harcourt.

He has already been favourably compared to another Ex-Eaglets star Wilfred Ndidi, who incidentally failed an age test prior to the 2013 U17 AFCON in Morocco.

Besides Atletico Madrid, FC Porto are also believed to be interested in the youngster.

The Eaglets will open their campaign by 4pm tomorrow against Burkina Faso, who also lost two players to the age test.

@Bolded above: It is obvious the lad's scan shows he was a Grade V high class which is close to grade VI. Very risky indeed. Well, wishing the team the best. They have to do this without him.

Now that our team is depleted of star players, are there any other star names we should be itching to see among the 18players?

Manu Garba should have planned this whole thing well by just dumping the 2 overaged players at the beginning than risking our chances of qualifying. What it means now is that we have a starting 11 and 4 subs. What if we have injuries?

Yes ooo. With our depleted team, we still qualified for U17afcon Tanzania 2019.
Let Manu Garba work on that defense. There is still need for improvement because Ghana exposed most of our lapses.
Kudos to Amoo, Olakunle etc. Good job well done.

Exclusive – Club Brugge Agrees Deal In Principle To Sign Nigeria U17 Captain Samson Tijani, MVP Of WAFU Championship

Belgium top division side Club Brugge have pulled a transfer coup by agreeing a deal with Colin Edwin FC to sign the captain of the Nigerian U17 team Samson Tijani, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Tijani was voted the Most Valuable Player ( MVP) at the recently concluded WAFU B Africa U17 Cup of Nations Qualifiers which Nigeria won by beating Ghana 1-0 in the final and as expected top clubs immediately pushed to sign him.

Club Brugge beat all comers for his signature and a deal has been agreed for the midfielder to join the team once he turns 18, which will be a year after the U17 World Youth Championship.

Rated as probably the next big thing ‎to happen to Nigerian football, the deal we reliably gathered was brokered by Norwegian based Nigerian agent Atta Aneke few weeks after the conclusion of the WAFU B Championship in Niger Republic.

Blessed with the ability to control possession and also win tackles, Tijani was at the heart of the dominant display of the Nigerian team at the tournament with as he was ever present in Owngoalnigeria.com ratings of top performers after every game of the Nigeria U17 team.

From November 4.... ANS dropped theirs on same U-17 player.

Club Brugge Deny Interest In Tijani, Why Eaglets Captain Risks Being Dropped For U17 AFCON

Belgian First Division A team Club Brugge have distanced themselves from reports linking them with a move for Nigeria U17 international Samson Tijani, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.

The midfielder put himself in the shop window after winning the Golden Ball award as the Most Valuable Player of the WAFU-UFOA Zone B qualifiers for the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations.

Club Brugge higher-ups plus a top source close to Norwegian-Nigerian intermediary Atta Aneke have insisted that there's nothing concrete regarding a move for Tijani.

The talented teenager is currently on the books of Collins Edwin Sports Club and it is believed that the Lagos club are in advanced talks with an unnamed European club who are interested in the signature of the Golden Eaglets captain.

Both clubs are eager to close a deal for Tijani as it has been suggested that he may not pass the next Magnetic Resonance Imagining (MRI) test to be conducted before the U17 AFCON in Tanzania next April.

Though negotiations are at an advanced stage, the stumbling block is that Collins Edwin Sports Club want a bigger sell-on clause to be inserted into the deal.

Golden Eaglets coach Manu Garba and his lieutenants plucked Samson Tijani from the Nigeria U15 national team earlier this year during one of their scouting exercises before the trip to Republic of Niger.

Eaglets Coach wants fresh MRI tests to avoid embarrassment ahead of World Cup

The Nigeria Football Federation will do well to avoid another MRI embarrassment as the Eaglets prepare for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup following concerns expressed by assistant Coach Nduka Ugbade to subject the current players in the team to further age tests.

Ugbade told footballlive.ng that the new tests proposed for for precautionary purposes to avoid overlooking small details that could hinder Nigeria’s campaign in Brazil.

Most players in the Eaglets camp participated in the AFCON tournaments in Tanzania, but a lot of growth and development must have occurred within the five months period since, the Coach observed.

“It’s not always so because in two months, you can grow and not develop but there is no way you develop without growing and as days goes by the speed with which we develop is different where we will now talk about the physicality the body mass difference of individuals.”

Nigeria U17 Coach Manu Garba Clears The Air On Invitation Of West Ham Goalkeeper Jinadu

Coach of the U17 team of Nigeria Manu Garba has responded to reports about the invitation of young West Ham goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu to the camp of the Nigerian team ahead of their campaign at the World Youth Championship.

Jinadu according to several reports has been called to the Nigeria U17 team after pledging his allegiance to Nigeria who are searching for options in goal for the team ahead of the World Youth Championship.

Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com from his base in Gombe, the coach ‎admitted that the team need more options in goal same as in every position even though he is satisfied with the goalkeepers at his disposal now.

” We have some talented goalkeepers in the team meaning anybody coming into the team has to be better than the options we have at the moment. It’s the same for every position “, Garba told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Speaking specifically on Jinadu, the coach explained that no formal invitation was sent to the goalkeeper from his coaching crew but said the shot stopper is free to come to camp and try out with the other lads for a spot.

” We didn’t invite him (Jinadu) formally ‎but our doors are always open. Normally people approach either my technical crew or the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) and recommend players. Through that means we have gotten some boys.

” To be fair, we’ve already played two tournaments with these set of players and they are going to form the bulk of the team but new players are welcome particularly if they are better than the ones we have”.

Nigerian U17 Coaches Pencil In Former Chelsea Goalkeeper For A Place In World Cup Squad

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that West Ham goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu has returned to the United Kingdom after training with the Golden Eaglets at their get-together in Abuja.
The 17-year-old would have stayed longer with the squad but had to return to London as a result of commitments with the Hammers youth teams.

Jinadu has a good chance of being included in Nigeria's squad to the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup, having impressed coach Manu Garba and goalkeeper trainer Baruwa Olatunji Abideen.

A product of the Chelsea Academy, the highly-rated goalkeeper has been told that he will resume training with the Nigeria U17s as from September 28 upon their return from the invitational tournament holding in Turkey.

Jinadu was conspicuously absent from the West Ham teams that faced Reading and Arsenal in the Premier League 2 and U18 Premier League in the last round of matches.

Although he has earned caps for England at U15 and U16 levels, he has pledged his international future to his country of birth, Nigeria.

Lowdown On Goteh Ntignee – The Canadian-Nigerian In
Nigeria U17 Camp For 2019 WYC

One name that stood out in the list of players called up to
the Nigeria U17 team ahead of the 2019 World Youth
Championship in Brazil is that of highly rated 16 year old
forward Goteh Ntignee.
His name was included by coach of the team Manu Garba
among the forwards as he bid to add more firepower to
his strike force which didn’t deliver as expected at the
recently concluded U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

Described as extremely quick with a great work rate which
he compliments with really good natural instincts. In the
games he has played he has shown he can be a constant
threat if given time and space on the ball.

Goteh recently joined USL League Two side Highlanders
after a storming season in the Vancouver Island Soccer
League Division 1, where he scored 10 goals and also got
to the final round for the Ivy Lucas Trophy awarded to the
Rookie of the Year in VISL Div 1.

He boast of an impressive record at just the age of 16 as
he has already won individual and team titles which
earned him a spot in the Canadian National Program as he
took part in the U15 National ID Camp in 2017 and also
played in the U-15 National showcase as part of Canada
U15 select team.

In Canada, the news of his call up to the U17 team of
Nigeria hasn’t gone down well with followers of youth
football in the country as he is viewed as one for the
future of the senior national team. Despite his obvious
quality he still have to prove to the coaches of the U17
team of Nigeria that he is better than the players they
currently have in attack.

Arsenal Wonderkid Advised To Turn Down Nigeria Call-Up

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Arsenal teenage
sensation Malcolm Ebiowei has been advised to turn down a call-up to the Golden Eaglets ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.

This website has chosen not to go into so much details,
however, it can be revealed that a foreign-born Nigerian player on the books of a London club has reached out to Ebiowei and informed him not to waste his time and money flying to Abuja because of the 'intricacies involved in selecting the final World Cup roster'.
Now, the promising midfielder is thinking about making a U-turn and believes he has more security wearing the colours of the Dutch and English national teams.
In addition, Premier League clubs have been advising their dual-eligible players to choose England over Nigeria.

This new development will be sweet music to the ears of the English FA as Ebiowei is in the plans of the Young Lions coaches.

Ebiowei has been in blistering form since the start of the
2019-2020 season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in his last two games for Arsenal U16.
It has been suggested that his parents wanted him to play for the Nigerian national team over the two European nations.
