FAAN Suspends Akure Airport Manager Over Cows Invasion

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has suspended the head of Security at the Akure Airport, Ondo state.

The suspension follows a runway incursion by cows on Saturday which prevented an Air Peace aircraft from landing for some minutes.

Shortly after, normalcy was however, restored and the aircraft was able to land safely.



FAAN through its spokesperson, Henrietta Yakubu, had earlier released a statement, apologizing to the airline as well as its passengers.

But the agency has now queried and suspended the airport manager over the disruption of flight operations.

The story gets more insane upsurd with recentbpoice statement saying the can't arrest herdsmen. Oh well the FAAN is only one at fault apparently. He should fence the perimeter so the cows can graze safely.

They have suspended the head of security and rightfully so. Somehow though, the police cannot arrest the trespassing herdsmen and their cattle because according to them, they haven't been told and there is no anti-grazing law in force in the state...

Fulani killer herdsmen have been clashing with Benue farmers and ravaging Benue communities, long before the anti-grazing law was promulgated. In fact, it was in a bid to stem clashes caused by cattle ravaging the farmlands, that the govt enacted the anti-open grazing law.
