Tragedy struck over the weekend at No. 21b Ntueke street, Awada Obosi in Idemili North local Government Area of Anambra state, as a man identified as Mr Stephen Nnadiogo, reportedly lost his cool and went on killing spree that ended the lives of his four children and sister-in-law before taking his own life.

Orient Daily learnt from source that Mr. Nnadiogo went berserk following lingering squabbles over unresolved paternity of his children. According to insider, trouble started when wife of the deceased allegedly bragged that he (the husband) was not the biological father of their kids during squabbles; and that she conceived them from engaging in extra marital affairs because he was impotent and unable to impregnate her.

According to the neighbor who spoke to our correspondent in confidence, recalled that the husband responded to the shocking admission by calling her a prostitute who could not be satisfied with one man.

“So during the weekend, while the wife was at her medicine store attending to patients in the evening of that fateful day, leaving their four children behind, I believe her husband then looked at the children closely and recalling that his wife told him that they were not his biological children incensed him into resolving to take their lives so that she would leave their matrimonial home and go to the biological father of the kids and stay. He ran berserk, stabbing them, including his sister-in-law, with a knife to death”, she disclosed.

After the gruesome murder of the kids, Nnadiogo reportedly went and hid himself in one of the apartments in the flat of a four storey building where they live and drank a poisonous substance, ending his own life.

The incident came to the limelight when their house help who was sent on an errand by the man before committing the abomination returned and saw bodies of the slain kids and sister-in-law strewn on the floor and blood everywhere.

When the maid ran to tell her madam at the medicine store that her kids were all dead, the wife reportedly fled to the police, fearing that her husband was hunting for her to kill her too. It was later discovered that the man committed suicide after killing the kids.

Confirming the incident when contacted, the Awada Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Mr Martin Mbajunwa said that investigation was on going stating that the corpses of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue.
