Are there steps you can take to become more persuasive? Steps that will persuade more of your prospects to listen to you, take action and purchase your products?
As a matter of fact, there are steps you can take, or sequences you can follow, to craft more persuasive messages.
Here there are
1. Show Expertise:
Experts say that people are more likely to believe whatever experts say without question � No seriously, aren’t you more likely to accept information without question, when you see that that information was provided by some expert? That’s why Doctors hang their certificates in their office – to show their expertise A a marketer, how can you show that you are an expert in your field? Or show some form of expertise in your messaging? Simple, quote experts or show data or statistics.
2. Show Credibility:
People trust people that show honesty. If your message is all flawless, without any weakness, your audience may question your credibility. But if you show some small weakness in your message, your audience will trust you more and believe that you are honest. However, it is critical for you to place that weakness in a strategic place. For example, a Doctor might say ”this drug might have a side-effect of back rashes but it has helped so many women struggling with obesity”, or I can say ”we have a small database of 4,000 professionals, but our audience is highly engaged and produce good ROI for advertisers”. See how it works? Place your weakness before re-enforcing the benefit of what you’re selling. Your audience will appreciate your honesty, trust you more, and not care so much about that weakness.
3. Show Similarity:
Politicians use this technique a lot. They go from town to town, dress like the natives of that town, and tell them how they are so similar to the people of that town. Remember ”I had no shoes”? Exactly. This is why it is important for you to know your audience, so you can craft a message that shows how similar you and your audiences are.
