All yorubas are in Lagos . Every other Yoruba states indigene are either in Lagos or abroad . So if you think they will be affected if other non Yoruba states follows suit u are kidding . They know this so that's y they will always be quick to tell you to pack and go if u don't like it the laws passed in Lagos state . All the laws they putting out their benefits them for simple reason : ibos and other tribes are the ones practically feeding them . Instead of being appreciative they showing more wickedness . Ibis are the ones developing all the places they are receiving huge revenues today . So fellas don't worry urselves wen they say u shud pack and go . In the actual fact they don't want you to go cos u are d one feeding them . If u dear go they will suffer . For example they like your variety of foods and they don't eat at home and yet they will not appreciate it .

So Lagos state passed a law saying you must pass or have a credit in yoruba language as one of the requirements for your admission and our people have started shouting tribalism..
What's wrong with this youths and this old people that are lacking the the basic sense to think. Must everything be tribalism?
Instead of shouting tribalism, why not make Lagos state government reason in another direction of promulgating a law that says every candidates need to pass or have a credit in their local language..? When I say this country has a long way to go.. you may think it's a lie. Running around with #nottooyoungtorun bill but thier core reeks of tribalism and tribal sentiment

Why would anyone want to go to those schools

If unilag or UI or ife was there it would have been an issue. LASU? Is it cultism that I want to study there?
With all the Yoruba buhaha schools in the east and south-south keep churning out reputable doctors that are snatched by Europe and America. So u expect SE/SS children dat are the highest performers in WAEC to attend LASU? I thought that school gives free education to all the Lagos touts from iyana-iba to okokomaiko? Even all the hypocrites hailing the law won't even send their children to LASU if UNILAG or UNN or even Zaria was on their table.

how can u make that layman comparison? don't we ve oil in southwest too, even if is not upto Niger delta? so far southwest has little oil even if is 2% then your comparison is invalid, insane, baseless and misfortune

this is a state law and any state is authorized to implement any law that suit their activities. the oil in southwest, east and Niger Delta is controlled by federal govt not Lagos state govt

I doubt if you're done with your elementary education with this your unintelligent comparison

Regardless of any language sentiment, this thread is important, because it is necessary for us to be informed.

With this law in place, there is no need to apply for admission into any Lagos State higher institution, if you do not have a credit in Yoruba, even if that is your ethnicity or you are fluent in the language.

With this law, do not apply for any post graduate degree or diploma in a Lagos State higher institution, even if the tuition fees are affordable, unless you have a credit in Yoruba.

International or foreign students have no place in a Lagos State higher institution unless they have a credit in Yoruba.

People that spend time in the north pick up the language and people that spend time in the west, pick up the language.

They did not learn it in School.
