Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday visited Benue State on a condolence visit to the state over the incessant killings and attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

He was received at the airport at Makurdi by the state Governor Samuel Ortom and other top government officials.

Not less than 158 persons have been reported killed in the sate as a result of sustained herdsmen attacks in the state since the January 11th, an event that led to a mass burial and protest by youths in Makurdi, the state capital.

Why do almost all of Nigeria's past leaders live so long? Almost all of them are old and strong enough to move about with the exception of Yaradua who'd been fighting an illness for most of his life and the military leaders assassinated by their rivals.
