I schooled in UNN. The Yoruba population is hardly what you'd describe as "large". There was no single Yoruba person in my department for example. Though I knew a couple in the hostels in other faculties. I'd wager Unizik would have even fewer.

You ain't lie bro, I went to Marist Brothers Okigwe, some of the brightest student I have ever met are from Imo, especially in sciences.. We had a student back then who read Ababio ( Chemistry txt book) front to cover, and he will answer any question you threw at him..The guy had 6 A1 in Waec.. Even among Igbo circles, it's not uncommon to hear " Ndi Imo na ama akwukwo"...

Yes. My Enugu-based cousin studied Law in OAU.

Whether it's Igbos based in the SW or not, a huge fraction of Igbo people study outside the SE. Comparatively few Yorubas study outside the SW because they have more options in their SW locality.

UNIZIK and UNN are the top conventional universities in the SE that offers variety of courses while Futo is a technological institute that offers limited courses mostly technical courses.

They are not on the same pedestal at all. Futo is in the league of Futa in Akure and FUTMinna in Niger state. You can grade Futo alongside these schools.

It is more or less a case of residence. There are lots of igbos living outside the East, going to schools either in the west, north, middle belt, south south based on the proximity to their location.

Who cares? The same people that like to cry "marginalization" all the time. The ones who want an Igbo president, but know the average Nigerian is highly distrustful of Igbos.
