So bullying d president into assenting to a selfish bill is what will strengthen our democracy? FYI, d two houses won't try overriding pmb cuz, pmb will fight dirty with dem.pmb will order inec on watt to do and d senate or Hot wont do anything. I believe pmb has bn too gentle with Dino and his co-rogues in dat Senate. Even saraki was bullied to pass dat bill cuz, it won't even benefit him in any way. If d bill was for d interest of d poor masses, dey wouldn't have thought of overriding it but since it's for dia selfish purposes, dey have bn threatening fire and brimstone. Pmb shud weild his executive powers to the extreme if dey try anything funny

You are politically naive. The only senators opposing such bill are those who don't belong in the senate
to begin with, they cannot win election without attaching Buhari's name.
It is in Saraki's best interest that the herdsmen in chief does not return to Aso rock.
If Buhari wants to be tough what will he do?
Use EFCC to lock up all members of national assembly?

Mr poor masses if your aso rock god is so popular with the poor masses why is he afraid of ordinary election
re-arrangement?

I think u are d neophyte here. U failed to answer my question. Why would dey be threatening pmb since dey sent down Bill to him? Is d bill in anyway beneficial to the masses? I don't support pmb when casting votes but I will keep exposing day hypocrisy in u people who just hate pmb for nothing but praise d nass even when dey are wrong. If pmb name dey worry u, u can do do needful. And yes, if he uses 40% of his executive powers, most of dose senators won't be attending hearings

Good! Let the senate exercise their constitutional powers and veto the bill by a majority vote.
We the citizens are solidly behind the legislative arm of government to implement policies that are favourable to the masses not the executive.
Enough is Enough!
After they test run this for INEC they should gear up for the peace Corp bill.
if u are a human being i ll say u are a disgrace to humanity but if u ar an animal (PIG) no problem. because i can't imaging a normal human to b behind senators dat collect 13.5million for doing nothing while people like u cannot afford 10 by 10 shop for spair parts in ladipo.

Buhari should have let it be so that himself & NASS members can all prove their mettle that their respective elections were really based on popular opinion.
if it's about that, why didn't NASS include that of state assemblies? It's all about selfishness.

Be warned that they hardly pay them these days as doing their work seems highly impossible with the buhari discontentment going on everywhere in Nigeria at the moment.

You will be under lie Mohammed ministry as he would be dishing out blame games and current lies to face patriotic Nigeria who demand the truth for the various lies spoken by the APC led government.

Your monthly pay is 30k and they is an additional 500 per post and 5 naira per like and shares you get.

Its a full time zombie job. You'll hardly get to sleep or eat. The job needs spiritual backing with the amount of curses Nigerians especially on nairaland place on your aspiring members. So contact your pastor or imam for advice before you sign up.

Good luck or rather bad luck on your journey of no return to sanity.

NB: To get their attention at command post (HQ) start defending anything that has to do with buhari and the APC especially when it's not defendable. Then for sure you'll be tagged a patriot from sarrki then your good to go.

Cheers! Don't thank me.

CEOconcord:
President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected the amendment to the Electoral Act, which intended to change the country's elections sequence. The president, it was gathered, gave three reasons for withholding assent to the bill, which was passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.

Sources said that the president has yesterday communicated his decision to the federal legislature in two separate letters addressed to the Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara. The two presiding officers are expected to read the letters to their colleagues at plenary between today and Thursday. Following the passage of the bill by the National Assembly, several civil society organizations (CSOs), senior lawyers and other notable Nigerians kicked against it, calling on the president not to assent to it.

This bill aims to strengthen our democracy and for a self acclaimed 'reformed democrat', it is shocking and appalling that the President has refused to sign it. Well, let the senate override him and let the supreme court judge.

I disagree with u. Pmb has nothing to loose if d presidential election comes last but signing dat selfish bill would mean dat he has fallen to do cheap blackmail and threats from doing two houses. Since dey Senate feels dat dey can bully pmb to assent to a self-serving bill, pmb was right to have withheld his assent. Why shud dey be threatening pmb since dey sent the bill to him? Let dem override him if dem get liver. Pmb shud just ask obj for direction on how to ruthlessly wield his executive powers

Ask which obj?

see the National Assembly is corrupt these are not national but political issues that serve them best..so I stand with PMB, let the National Assembly focus on National issues and stop all this foolishness...there are other pressing matters they can use their remaining time to focus on. like for real this present legislators are full of BS

See how ipobians in this house are so furious with mr president just because he exercised his constitutional power on a constitutional matter before him. Some are even saying the re ordering of the election is not in his favore and therefore he is afraid he will lose should the sequence be changed.
These ipobian pigs, because of hate, have so soon forgotten the Buhari factor that brought down their mandella from power is potent. They have hope the nass are doing their bid, ie unseating Buhari, with the re sequencing of the election.
Buy, These bunch of selfish nass, especially those from north will soon know how reckless it is for one to shoot oneself on head. I pray they override the president withheld assent.

The greatest fraud of all time in Nigeria, the world and where ever is in existence is Buhari.
Budget padding in the House of Reps in 2016: Buhari said and did nothing.
Babachir Lawal and Amb Ayo Oke saga: if Ayo should get hold of that whistleblower ehn e will smell is yansh. Babachir lawal is still a free man.
Reinstatement of suspended NHIS boss: Mr anti corruption indeed.
Maina's controversial return: KAI Baba did as if he wasn't aware.

Failure to prosecute indicted APC members: orji uzor kalu and musiliu Oban ikorodu, Their cloth became white as snow the moment they joined apc.

Illegal payment of fuel subsidy: running into "bellions" of naira.

Kachikwu’s exposure of the suspicious award of contracts by the Baru-led Nnpc: oh I forgot Buhari was in "za" UK so we should not disturb him with that.

The IGP of Police scandal: the old man just said he didn't know his son Ibrahim Idris didn't listen to him his father. IGP has not been sacked.

Appointment of dead people in boards of Federal Government agencies: pharaoh Buhari wanted to give them money to spend in the after life, like Egyptians do.

Failure of Buhari to disclose health costs in London: is it Nigerians business, let the man spend the money jare, after all its his inheritance.

It goes on and on and on.
But let's stop there. Stop being a zombie

how will it strengthen our democracy ? The senators have no right to tell in c how to handle elections ? Are they not participants within the electoral system as well ? You can’t be a participant and decide it’s your job to determine the sequence of an election in which you will be vying for ? There is definitely a conflict of interest and it is that interest that is making them try to change the order of the election ! The president won’t sign and if they veto it it will go to the Supreme Court and they will lose and cry hot tears !
