British IT Hardware Supplier To Build Largest Bitcoin Farm In The UK

Bladetec, a British IT hardware supplier, has currently showed plans to build a Bitcoin (BTC) farm in the South East of United Kingdom, The Sunday Telegraph reported March 17.

The project dubbed the Third Bladetec Bitcoin Mining Company Ltd (TBBMC) aims to raise £10 mln or roughly $13.9 mln from investors to build and operate the farm over the next two to three years. The developers then plan to sell off the mined coins as well as the mining equipment to supply investment returns, says the funding platform for the project, Envestry.

Ukraine to Compensate a Citizen in Bitcoin – for ”Moral Damages”

A district court in Kiev Oblast has agreed upon a lawsuit which is setting a precedent in Ukraine. The plaintiff seeks compensation in bitcoin for “moral damages” caused by law enforcement officials. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled after the presiding judge found no legal grounds to say no to the claim.

For the first time in Ukraine’s judicial practice, a claim for compensation in cryptocurrency has been agreed upon by a local court. Ukrainian citizen Dmitriy G. wants to be paid 1 BTC for “moral damages” he suffered in result of an “unlawful” search. He is suing officers from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and their colleagues from the Prosecutor’s Office who conducted the operation.

The US National Security Agency (NSA) is reportedly capable to locate senders and receivers of Bitcoin around the world, as classified documents made avaliable by Edward Snowden showed, The Intercept reports March 20.

The sources used for this article were revealed to the Intercept, a publication dedicated to ‘adversarial journalism’ founded by Glenn Greenwald, Laura Poitras, and Jeremy Scahill following Edward Snowden’s revelations of mass reconnaissance in 2013.

The NSA managed this by creating a system for harvesting, analyzing, and processing raw global internet traffic using a program unrecognizable as a well-known anonymizing software, according to other documents dating March 2013.

Germany’s Tourism Board Accepts Bitcoin Payments

The German National Tourism Board has announced that it accepts cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin for its services. The organization promotes German travel destinations with offices in 32 countries around the world. GNTB also have in mind to implement blockchain technologies in its finances. “We want to be a global innovation driver in the tourism industry,” its chairperson currently stated. 

Services presented by the German National Tourism Board (GNTB) can now be paid in cryptocurrency. The organization which promotes Germany as a travel destination accepts bitcoin payments from March this year, according to a press release. It also made known “medium-term” plans to test blockchain technologies in the processing of its international financial transactions.
