These Countries Won’t Tax Your Bitcoins Too Much

A growing number of governments can’t oppose the temptation to get their hands on some of the bitcoins their citizens are making. various states, however, think that leaving some breathing space for crypto users and entrepreneurs is a better idea in the long run. Crypto-friendly tax regimes can still be found around the world.

Germany, Europe’s economic locomotive, has been completely careful with crypto taxation. Last month the Federal Ministry of Finance issued a notice which treats bitcoin as a currency. The Bundesrepublik is not going to tax cryptos when exchanged with euros. Purchases with bitcoin are subject to VAT, just like any other. No tax will be imposed, however, on long-term investments in cryptocurrency. If a trader sells a bitcoin more than a year after its purchase, the profit is removed from taxation. The same applies to yearly profits of less than €600.

Tax authorities in Denmark have said that fintech companies should pay taxes just like any other business. Moreso, individual investors trading cryptos do not owe any tax on their profits.

Belarus has created a friendly atmosphere for crypto investors, both corporate and private. Activities like mining, issuing, and trading coins were legalized in March. A presidential decree  brought in tax exemptions for crypto incomes and revenues for a time of five years.

Profits from cryptocurrency transactions are still tax free in South Korea. The Finance Ministry and the tax authorities in Seoul are working on a legislation that is likely to change the situation. The new tax bill should be adopted in the first half of this year, according to officials. No acute time frame has been set.

Buying bitcoin will save you taxes in Singapore. Digital coins are not considered commodities there and are not acknowledged as currencies. In the absence of special requirements, profits from crypto investments of private individuals are not taxed. Companies trading cryptocurrencies, however, are expected to pay taxes on their.

The situation in the US is also  complex. Various states have taken steps to become crypto-friendly jurisdictions. Wyoming passed a bill exempting cryptocurrencies from property taxation. Two other states want to legalize bitcoin as a payment alternative for tax purposes. Arizona has promised to become the first US state to start accepting taxes in cryptocurrency. Georgia may also allow its residents to pay taxes in bitcoin.

German Stock Exchange Subsidiary To Release Crypto Trading App

Sowa Labs, a subsidiary of Germany’s second largest stock exchange Börse Stuttgart, will release a cryptocurrency trading app later this year, according to the app’s website.

The app, called Bison, will be ready in September and will at first support trading of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETC), Litecoin (LTC), and XRP. The website states that more assets will be included in the future. Bison also claims that they will charge no trading fees. The app will be ready in German, and later in English.

One Of The Largest Crypto Farms in Russia To Be Established In The Heart Of Siberia

One of the largest cryptocurrency mining farms in Russia will be made firm in Krasnoyarsk Krai in Siberia, according to Daniel Zakomolkin, director general of the mining company BitBaza, news outlet TASS reported April 12.

Zakomolkin said that the region was chosen “from the outlook of energy and cost reduction”. Infrastructure investments are estimated at about three bln roubles (about $48 mln). Zakomolkin said.

Zakomolkin noted that construction of the crypto farm’s blocks of processors inside the industrial park has been in motion for over than a month. At first the mining farm will draw 10MW of power, after which consumption will be  raised to 120MW, according to Zakomolkin.

Major Korean Exchange Launches in Indonesia with Six Cryptocurrencies

One of South Korea’s top three cryptocurrency exchanges, Coinone, is launching an exchange in Indonesia. at first, six cryptocurrencies will be supported but the exchange plans to add more coins. Coinone is also launching an airdrop event for 10,000 pre-registrants.

Coinone made widely known on Monday that it is launching Coinone Indonesia in Jakarta, “making [it] first among the top cryptocurrency exchanges in Korea to enter the global market,” the company wrote.

The South Korean exchange is the third-largest crypto exchange in the country after the Kakao-backed Upbit and Bithumb. Its 24-hour trading volume is $63,140,495 at the time of this writing, according to Coinmarketcap. South Korean Crypto Exchange Bithumb To Issue Own Token In Singapore

Bithumb, South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, has currently disclose plans to issue its own token, Bithumb Coin, in an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), local news outlet TokenPost reports Thursday, April 19.

According to the report, the Bithumb token sale will be conducted in Singapore since ICOs are banned in South Korea. Bithumb is reportedly focusing on large-scale investors rather than individual investors. Bithumb did not confirm when the coin is expected to be launched, or the size of the venture, according to TokenPost.

Bithumb is not the first crypto exchange to launch its own token. In January, Chinese crypto exchange Huobi made widely known its plans to issue Huobi Token (HT) that would be capped at 500 mln tokens. Huobi noted that the token would not be an ICO, claiming that only active users of the trading platform would be able to receive HT.

Indian Exchange Zebpay Launches Crypto-to-Crypto Trading

Indian cryptocurrency exchange Zebpay has launched its first crypto-to-crypto trading pair.

Established in 2015 and headquartered in Mumbai, Zebpay claims to be India’s besk cryptocurrency exchange. In March, the company said that its app had more than three million downloads, “making it the most downloaded cryptocurrency app on both iOS and Android in India.”

Citing that its “engineers have been working round-the-clock to launch crypto-to-crypto trading,” the exchange detailed this week:

The “crypto-to-crypto trading characteristic will be ready for use in the new app update: Android version 2.0.14 and iOS version 2.0.24,” the exchange explain, adding that the fees for all crypto-to-crypto transactions will be charged in bitcoin.

A leading cryptocurrency exchange in India, Zebpay, has brought in crypto-to-crypto trading on its platform. The launch closely follows the Reserve Bank of India banning banks from servicing crypto exchanges. Meanwhile, Zebpay celebrated its 3 millionth app download.

Security Firms Offer Protection for Crypto Traders in Moscow

Private security companies in Moscow are offering a new service –guardianship for people buying and selling cryptocurrency for cash. The companies have also expressed readiness to help investigate crypto-related crimes. Police are still unwilling to work on such cases, as cryptocurrencies are not yet regulated in Russia.

Several security companies in the Russian capital are now offering guardians to people trading cryptocurrencies offline. Deals always take place right on the street and involve crypto transactions through mobile or hard wallets and cash transfers. Virtual and fiat funds are often lost by a crypto user falling  prey to modern day criminals.

A growing number of cases of cryptocurrency-related fraud and theft have been reported by Russian media in the past few months. Philippines Welcomes Crypto Economic Zone

After hemming and hawing in its strange relationship with cryptocurrencies and the businesses they indicate, the Philippine government chose to make room for a set aside economic zone. The scheme is offered in hopes of generating more tax income, employment for its people, and probably a dedicated crypto university.
