Is The SOUTH EAST Just As Parasitic As The North??? by 0monnak0da: 6:15pm On Mar 25, 2018
The SE people are always quick to label the North as "parasites" depending on oil for existence but is this nt true for the SE as well?

Recently released figures of IGR show the SE performance to be very low when it comes to IGR with the most significant paart of its budget based of federal allocations.
Infact Ogun state has nore IGR than every single one of the SE states COMBINED.

Don't you ever in your life call the north parasites because we feed you. All the grains and beef you eat is it being farmed in your village?

As for you inyamiri there is no greater parasite than you, which goes a long way to explain the low IGR your region generates and what ten million of your destitute brethren are doing in mine.

Of course, they gave it to us free of charge.

We don't buy it with our hard earned money.

It is subsidised for who?

It will be far cheaper to import from Cameroon.

Besides, the only thing we get from the north is meat, tomatoes and onions.
Rice and other grains are grown in the south or imported in large volumes.

Ok I see what you mean ? That is very funny let us assume what you say is true (it is not) but for arguemnt sake let us say it is true..

You sell the food or whatever to who has interest in buying it and whoever sells it puts the money in his pocket. Often without paying any tax
Can you tell me how that money can end up in the budget of a local goverment in Delta State or the Lagos State budget?

Kindly explain to me how any of that money and what proportion ends up in the Federal Government budget

Explain to me how it is any different from the rice we buy from Thailand o rthe chicken from Brazil. We PAY for it.

So to say you feed anyone is complete idiocy.

Wealth is TRANSFERRED from the South to fund State government budgets across the North . In most cases more than 80% of the budget . That is how you pay salaries of Islamic police in Kanoand for you jolly Hajj trips to Mecca. This is mone from Oil and VAT from the South

THAT is what it means to FEED someone. You give the ALLOCATIONS every month

Now for your information it is you in the north that eat grain We eat cassava mostly and we grow it. Next to that is rice which we import

The beef actually is being farmed in the south , farmed violently I might add

Countries like the UK and UAE import almost allthe food they eat and none of their partners would be foolish enough tosay they FEED them.

What we are talking about is contribution to the public finances
How do we pay for roads ,the Army the police Abuja etc in Nigeria WHAT DOES THE NORTH contribute to the budget of the country? NOTHING

Look at that figure of allocation up there 1.7 trillion Naira goes to all the states and more than half goes to the North?

How much of it comes from the north

IGR is nothing but tax. Government increases tax when it is going broke and it undermines the masses. The new Lagos land use charge is an increment of about 400% from the old one, this will make Lagos IGR to increase at the expense of the welfare of the citizens. It is not development. It is wickedness.

It is a tax but the parasite argument here is based on the premise that the core f the SE budget is based on allocations from other regions so without those allocations the SE governments are not viable

That is the point of discussion here

Compare with Ogum state where 70% of budget is IGR

so we are talking about how much of ths budget is Internally Generated and how much is allocation??

And u just supply em freely like they aren't paid for? Shove it up where the sun don't shine! The South, with abundance of funds at her disposal will produce what she needs and source the rest elsewhere. How much of ur so called meat n grains gets to the national purse to form part of the monthly allocations which ur parasitic northern states take a larger share of?

Mister, do you even know what is equity...?

Most of these states have federal investments whicg attracts other investments to them.

While SE states have done well in terms of sustainability, you should add big investment from FG as a factor in as well.

"... there is virtually no federal establshment to provide jobs for the teeming youths of the zone.
The only federal presence in the zone are prisons and abandoned grain silos,” Ohaneze

Let me explain basic Economics to GoroTango whatever food the North produces is part of GDP or economic output. It is no different from any other economic output whether it be transportation , movi making or even prostittion. As long as oney is exchanging hands for goods and services it is econoic output.

What we are talking about is not econoic output but CONTRIBUTION to public finances at the FG level .

How do we pay for the activity of governent in Nigeria at the different tiers and what does the North contribute to those finances

List investments in Zamfara Kebbi and so on
But you gleefully call the North parasites while you are the same

One day you are telling us how industrialized Nnewi and Aba are next you are saying no federal investment
