Most Photographers in Nigeria back in the days were only involved in taking pictures at event and shooting videos.

However, owing to change especially the Social Media factor, Photography has become one of the fastest growing service in present day Nigeria.


A new service under Photography know as Photoshoot has changed the brand of the service.

As Nigerians now come up with different photoshoots for various events and ceremonies.


Photoshoot, which used to be majorly for models in the fashion and glamour industry is now meant for anybody so long you have the pay.

It has also boosted the level of professionalism among photographers.

As many want their services to be remembered and applauded.

Photoshoot became popular in Nigeria with Birthday shoots.

However, it has escalated to Pre Wedding photoshoot, Bridal shower photoshoot, Graduation photoshoot, baby bump photoshoot etc.


Most of the listed photoshoots above were not common in the past save for Birthday photoshoot, although it is not in the same fashion as in the past.

The Pre Wedding photoshoot is pictures of two lovers taken prior to their wedding.

Although, this type of photoshoot has been sexually abused by some couples.

Another unique one is the Baby Bump photoshoot.



It is not yet common except among celebrities.

The photoshoot will show most especially the pregnant woman showing her baby bump as she pose in diverse styles.

With the way Nigerians are craving for photoshoot, one can conclude that other kinds of photoshoots will come up.

Well, it is a blessing for photographers as it is a means to make a living off their profession.
