That's not an excuse, they can as well use clean cut clothes. wash and spread in the sun after use.
Thank you for this comment.

They can easily wash clean cut clothes and use temporary.

However, aid must come to these people speedily, but are they ready to forsake their retrogressive ways and develop? undecided

Founder of Complete Care and Aid Foundation, Hajiya Aisha Wakil, has revealed that Boko Haram insurgency has made sanitary pad unavailable to many women in troubled Borno State.

ThisDay reports that Wakil, popularly called Mama Boko Haram revealed that many women who are now victims of insurgency have resorted to using sand and ashes in place of sanitary pad during their monthly menstrual cycle.

By the way, she should convince her boys to return Leah Sharibu and the remaining Chibok girls. Their return to civilisation will prevent them from having to use sand and ashes. Her role as Mama Boko Haram which she confidently speaks about still baffles me. If you know the root of the problem, why dance around it always instead of finding a permanent solution?

This is so bad.
And in this country people spend so much money on trivial things.

There is just one solution.

This makes no ounce of sense
All that fabric to cover yourself up but lack the acumen to use some of it as sanitary wear?
How difficult is it to think outside the box?
If women in the Kalahari can adapt why is it a problem here?
I refuse to believe that a woman can struggle to be resourceful to this extent.

I think ashes are good and sometimes medicinal but sand?! I am not sure because later oyibos might test and find out sand has healing properties too.
Necessity is the mother of invention. One has to do what one has to do.
