The name Babalola Falemi might not ring a bell in the ears of music lovers and critics across Nigeria. But the name Sauce kid or Sinzu as he was later known as, cannot be said to be unfamiliar. Especially core hip hop and rap fans across Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Remember the 2009/2010 smash Hit “Under G” produced by Don jazzy? Remember the popular slangs “Sanboribobo “, “ Yebariba” and “Watcanfa”?.

Do you remember the guy who battled Godwon in one of Nigeria’s hottest rap beefs? Or have you forgotten the crooner of the Smash hit “Carolina ft Omo Baba Olowo himself, Davido? Yes, the person is no other than rapper and former storm record affiliate, SINZU.

Coming into the limelight before the likes MI and Vector; Sauce kid released his first official single in 2005 titled Omoge ft Mike Okri. He followed up with the pioneer mix tape in the Nigerian hip hop scene titled “Money Long: The Mixtape.

Sauce kid would later change his name to Sinzu. But this was after the release of his debut album The African American in 2010 under storm records. This album went on to score hit singles like Elenu ft 9ice, Sinzu is Sinzu, Omoge wa jo and Monkey banana, .

And afterwards left storm records. He then established his own label called SMG (Sinzu Music Group ) in 2012. Under which he dropped hit singles like the Maleek Berry produced Carolina ft davido, loko ft timaya, headless chicken ft Burna boy,Put it down featuring Sarkordie, Nearly Radical, and Shingba.

Sauce Kid’s Renaissance Era

He released a couple of other singles like
Wat can fa, shine, kitchen street ft vector, Lord Knows, Fashi ft BIls ,All birds cover, child’s play ft wizkid and other sleeper hits during the 2012 renaissance 2014 period in the Nigerian music industry.

It was also during this period he made it to the controversial NotJustOk’s most gifted rappers list. And this would inspire a serious fight with former friend who he collaborated with on “Too much money”, Godwon. He released the diss track “Exit strategy” to diss Godwon and the track is regarded as one of the best hip hop diss tracks ever recorded in Nigeria .

During this period, Sinzu returned to the US and started displaying his expensive lifestyle on social media. it was evident he was spending recklessly without a stable source of income as shown on his “Dubai trips” and “G check” tracks.

In 2015, he returned with the Industreet mixtape with tracks like that’s a fact ft Verse, money in pocket, errday and my flow . 2016 saw him drop bars on a freestyle cover of Olamide’s Who you epp. Shortly after, he was sentenced to serve two years in federal prison; for stealing around $15,388 and on counts of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. Artistes like Davido, Dammy Krane and his close friend Ikechukwu were among those who sought his release as at the time he was arrested.
After his release a lot of music lovers and critics are looking forward to what the new Sinzu is bringing. His industreet mix-tape 2 was expected to drop in late 2017 but was postponed because of his jail term.

With the likes of Gucci mane and lil wayne coming out of prison to drop fire, can we expect sinzu to same. Which is to leverage the two years hiatus and become more creatively empowered. And to ultimately give us his best offering yet. Does Sinzu stand a chance in an industry dominated by new rappers like Dremo, Ycee, Poe and the rest?

He may not deliver the hardest punchline, but sinzu raps are so enjoyable to the ear, his flows gives an Eargasmic feeling

All he needs is one single about smoking drinking and sex with Davido and gbam!! Two months later he will be doing assurance and baby mama with one girl that has his name tattooed on her butt. Because the song must be a hit in nigeria. It really is that easy.

OP... Of course he can! All he has to do is find someone to write a hit track for him just like davido wrote "carolina" for him in 2011 and boom he will bounce back
