The man in the photographs below was my senior colleague in the Army. His Army and service details are:

Unit : 27 taskforce brigade buni yadi
On the 9th of Feb 2018, the serving soldier named above deployed in NE for Operation Lafiya Dole precisely in 27 TF Bde Buni Yadi was involved in a horrific accident. The blast of an RPG impacted his eyes. He was in a critical condition and was evacuated the same night to Damaturu, from there referred to 7 Div Military Hospital Maiduguri. From there to he was referred to University of Maiduguri Teaching hospital and then down to 44 military hospital in kaduna, all these took about 1 month and 10 days,from there he has been referred to Thelish Hospital owned by Indians.
LATEST UPDATES ON HIM
He needs Cornea implant to save his sight. The accident buried hot sand n debris in his eyes. The right vision is gone, but the left eye is cloudy and out of focus. The grand idea is to quickly salvage the parts of his eye that is still working. The Opthalmologist told him that depending on his body system , he has about 2 -3 weeks to do the surgery or else there will be no need to do the surgery again. And they won't start the process unless payment is made, because of their past experience with the army. He was advised to raise funds as Army bureaucracy and paperwork takes time ( when(if) they respond, it might be too late).
The bureaucracy in the military in getting him the urgent treatment he deserves and need is what has necessitated this update and we his former colleagues are using this medium to call on the military authorities to expedite action before he loses the second eye while we also mobilise resources for him in our own capacity.
