You made a point though. Those people might believe that they are connecting to the anointing in their leader's life but that posture is totally wrong. It is almost as if they are worshiping or praying to their leader.

Angels recorded in the bible declined to be worshiped but ascribed all forms of worship to Almighty God. So no true Christian should worship his/her leader or pastor.

Also, true pastors would decline any form of worship from anyone irrespective of the miracle or wonder performed in God's name, but would rather ascribe all worship and glory to God.
