Now that Kaduna has a dry port, for instance, you could indicate Kaduna as the port of final destination, rather than Lagos.

So to the people handling your cargo, Lagos becomes just a transhipment centre where they transfer your goods by road(lorry) or rail onwards to the Kaduna Port. No need to spend time with Lagos Customs Command.

So, assuming you reside in or around Kaduna, instead of coming down to Lagos, when your goods arrive Kaduna, you simply go to the dry port and clear it with Customs. Whereas if you had to come down to Lagos, you might spend much longer time clearing it, because there would be so many other people trying to clear their own goods too.

But this is assuming the Kaduna Dry Port is now fully operational with all necessary registrations done.
