The Supreme Court will on July 6, 2018 give its ruling on the false assets declaration charge brought against Senate President Bukola Saraki by the Federal Government.

Justice Musa Mohammed Dattijo, who presided over the matter yesterday, fixed the date after taking arguments from both Saraki and the Federal Government.

Saraki had approached the Supreme Court, asking it to dismiss the 18-count criminal charges of false assets declaration brought against him by the Federal Government.

He told the apex court that the charges against him were frivolous, and that prima facie case was not established against him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), which earlier tried him.

But counsel to the Federal Government, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), urged the court to hold that Saraki has a case to answer in the charges.

He submitted that there was no law that an investigation must be conducted before charges can be preferred against any defendant.

In another development, the Federal High Court, Abuja, has fixed April 30, 2018 for ruling on an ex-parte motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seeking forfeiture of property belonging to former First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan.

This followed arguments between the prosecution and counsel to Mrs. Jonathan, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

The EFCC’s application, which was moved by Benjamin Manji, sought leave of the court for an order granting an interim attachment/forfeiture of the property.

But Ozekhome prayed the court not to entertain EFCC’s ex-parte motion.

Ozekhome further argued that EFCC’s motion was an abuse of court process because it was filed during the pendency of another action in respect of the property before a sister court presided by Justice John Tsoho.

He, therefore, urged Justice Nnamdi Dimgba to hold that “this is a proper case where you cannot shave someone’s hair in someone’s absence.”

So how will you have evidence to back up the charges Looking for selective justice? No wonder government have been losing high profile corruption cases in their media frenzy trials.

If you are a good analyst, you'd sense buhari wants to use a list of things for his campaign shyte...

1. The first is the release of looters' names and the impending addition of APC looters

2. Now they are bringing a long overdue case of saraki...saraki should beware... Though I want him and every politician behind bars grin

But if he fails to win the case and Federal government really wants him to go down then Saraki is good as gone politically because section 23 Subsection (2)of code of criminal tribunal will fall on him as punishment as stated in their code (1) Vacating the senate (2) Disqualification of holding any position in the country be elective or non elective (3) Forefiture of all the properties.
If it were OBJ as president Saraki is gone.

No matter the federal government vendetta against Saraki, it would never stop discerning minds from seeing the fact is one of the best things to happen to Nigeria in this period.

If Saraki wasn't the Senate President, we would have been telling a different tale by now.

It's either Tinubu would have sold Nigeria, or the national Assembly would have been a rubber stamp endorsing every stupid policies of the executive.

But fools are calling Saraki a thief because they said he's a thief without taking time to know if he really is guilty of what they are accusing him of.

They just hate his smartness.

Saraki and co have not passed the budget submitted since Nov
They approved a peace corps that will only use their uniform extort money

If Saraki & co really loved us, they would stick to their N13.5m per month (N160m pa) and release the N200m annual constituency allowance

Min wage is N216k pa N18,000 monthly
So 1 senator's constituency allowance can pay 1,000 youths earning minimum wage
or all 109 senators can give up their constituency allowance and employ 100,000 youths on minimum wage
Even 60,000 youths earning N30,000 monthly
