Of course, the worst possible draw for Arsenal. There’s no doubt that Atletico Madrid are the strongest team left in the Europa League.
They probably have the best defence in Europe, having only conceded 15 goals in La Liga this season.
Antoine Griezmann and Diego Costa are a frightening front two. They also know how to win the competition, having lifted the trophy in 2010 and 2012.
Having said that, surely Arsenal were the team that Atletico wanted to avoid too? And in the quarter-final second leg, Sporting showed that the Spanish side are far from unbeatable.

Speaking as an Arsenal fan, AC is just at our level now...after all, AC used to qualify for Champions league regularly..then suddenly dropped off.

At the same time...the signs were there we might beat AC...their domestic performance has not been too spectacular compared to us. Still...i won't lie...I was concerned.

Athletico, on the other hand, have been at the level of Barca and Real in LaLiga in the last 5 years ..to the point that they have been regular contenders for the title.

Why always Arsenal??
