The Federal Government has ordered an investigation into the invasion of the National Assembly and theft of the mace from the Senate.

Several individuals suspected to be thugs had entered the Senate chamber during plenary around 11:30 am, snatched and went away with the mace.

Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, said in a statement that the Federal Government was shocked by the incident and has ordered a probe.

The security agencies are “to immediately unravel the circumstances surrounding the breach of security that led to the invasion”, the statement signed by a Special Adviser to the minister, Mr Segun Adeyemi, read in part.

In addition to that, the statement said security would also be reinforced to prevent a recurrence.

Usually there is the DSS, the Police, the NSCDC, etc. guarding the national assembly...

Surprisingly today, none of them reacted nor challenged these unarmed thugs.

Who has control over these security agencies?

The security agencies failed to show up just after the Senate called for the sack of all their heads.

One man's personal ambition is about to set the nation on fire.

If Saraki can illegally sack a senator then all Senators should be sacked.

The way things are; this country is not safe.
pls, i want to urge everyone to pls know/learn how to use gun or bomb.
if this things can happen in national assembly where we have securities of different parastattals. i.e police, nscdc, etc. then the common man is not safe...

pls, learn self defense.
I have already taught my siblings how to use simple weapon to fight incase of necessity.

THERE IS BIG PROBLEM AHEAD

...The security agencies are “to immediately unravel the circumstances surrounding the breach of security that led to the invasion”,

Some pieces of bribe cash probably did the job. undecided

Action movie at it peak. But its really an embarrassing moment for Nigeria security agencies. I purported that NASS have its own security personnels guiding the National assembly as a whole. The question is were where the security personnels when the incident occurred?
If at all F.G had withdrawn their security personnels prior to the incident, wouldn't them have raised alarm on the security withdrawal?
Obviously, majority of the senators were aware of the incident before it occurred that's why no security personnel challenged those thugs.
All the best to them
