Fourteen wins, seven draws and five defeats with 64 goals in favour and 32 against is real Madrid’s record in the 26 matches played this season at home, a record that hasn’t been seen at the Bernabeu since the last century, specifically since the 99/00 season.
On that occasion Real Madrid had painful home defeats against Zaragoza (5-1), Atleti (3-1) and Bayern Munich (4-2), as well as several other poor results against rivals like Oviedo or Numancia.
With the two points lost to Athletic on Wednesday night, that makes it 17 that Real Madrid have let slip at home in 17/18.
That’s something that didn’t happen in the domestic championship since the 06/07 season with Fabio Capello as coach; the Famous ‘League of comebacks’ that Real ended up winning on the last day against Mallorca.
