USE OF ENGLISH:

" **We have a very young population; our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. More than 60 per cent of the population is below the age of 30. A lot of them have not been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria has been an oil producing country, therefore they should sit and do nothing and get housing, healthcare and education free* .

1. Identify where the word " LAZY" as hidden in the statement above. (30 marks)

2. Summarize the paragraph above in one sentence. (30 marks)

3. Is the statement above true or false.(10 marks)

4. Does the statement offend you? If yes, why? (30 marks).

1. Therefore they sit down and do nothing(laziness mean sitting idle).

2. We are approx 180m in population meanwhile 60% of us are youth below 30 but what they only want is social freebies without contributing any effort.

3. False.

4. Yes, the statement is offensive to the able youths of this country, because despite the fact that there is no single encourage effort from the government, like provision of basic social amenities, like electricity, water, good road network, housing mention above, majority of this youths still find way to work, for example the barbers, tailors, business center owners, welders e.t. c must buy generator, fuel the generator everyday to work, cost of maintaining the generator is another big issue, same for major entrepreneurs in this company, cost of running a business here in Nigeria without government electricity provision is enormous compare to other neighboring countries, even Ghana. Whoever made the above statement, may either be naive to Nigeria problems or the fellow is only making insensible mockery of the youths.
