The hotelier can not deny them lodging, else he will be dead by now. Infact, informing d police is also a delicate game. If he actually inform them, then he don't need to fear. The truth will prevail. Police Investigation is quite different from court proceedings. I think d dpo and some of his officers will be in problem at d end of d case.

exactly! Like the way the US has a monitoring team called Internal Affairs used to monitor corruption and high handedness among American cops. If Nigeria police can emulate that then the issue of collecting bribe will at least go down a little.
