Kirin 970 is on the same per with snapdragon 835. It's Huawei in house chip just like Samsung have exynos.

Samsung use Snapdragon for US models and Exynos for international models. Huawei phones are not officially sold in the US.

As far as I know, from reading some news two months ago, Huawei is already the second best selling brand in Europe, they sold more devices than Apple.

However, because they are from China, they will always have issues competing in the US, where regulators and politics won't really allow Huawei to expand too much.
