happytbaby: Thanks for the explanations and advice. We've been here for a little over 2months and settling fine. I have close siblings here who have been supportive thus far. Please, for the FBI clearance, will it be required for everyone (wife and kids inclusive) or just the PA? Will I be able to initiate and complete the process with or without them either as accompanying or non-accompanying. I am thinking of probably coming alone to sort things out. Sorry for my worries! |

Hi TEECANN, CRS will drop despite your analysis above. One third of the year is gone by and IRCC has only given out 2800 ITAs which is almost equal to one third of the number of intakes expected in 2018(74,900) through express entry. We all know that not everyone that gets ITA is admitted. Therefore it is safe to say that IRCC is already below target. The numbers of ITA issued is also lower than the numbers issued at this time last year, mind you the expected number of immigrants is higher in 2018. IRCC definitely has to increasethe number of draws to meet their 2018 target. The more ITA issued per draw/frequently of draws the lower the CRS scores would be. TEECANN: 11 Likes 1 Share |

ddshow: Guy, why why but why ![]() Why will you plan to this to those lovely kids... Why will you even think of over-staying your visit visa in the US when it's obvious you can satisfy the conditions for a skilled worker migration to Canada..Canada, which is just an hour drive from the nearest US town? Why but why? Patience is a virtue...even if you don't mind the taint on your immigration status, what about these lovey kids ![]() My naija people, my people, my people! Only and if only we can exercise patience and do the right thing once and for all and enjoy thereafter (our culture of get it now and fast is scary- reason why I'm porting my kids outta this society ![]() You will go to US tire from Canada...you can even get jobs in the US as a Canadian PR/Citizen...your Canadian office may even be sending you on several work trips to the US (paid for) so much that you go tire to dey go US!!! Bro, do the needful, retrace steps...on the long run, it doesn't worth it...because this is a recipe to be bitter in the future and hitting twitter and start saying Nigerians do menial jobs abroad and most can't make ends meet...how will they, if they didn't enter the right way? I know my sermon will not be palatable to the majority of Nigerians who are looking for all means to jaaa...but if someone has everything it takes get ITA to a Canadian immigration system, why will such a person go to US to overstay a visit visa? It doesn't make sense to me! It may to some people! It will end in praise IJN! 17 Likes 1 Share |

TEECANN: I understand perfectly everything you've laid out but in all, I pray you don't walk my shoes for any reason. Every case is peculiar. I've had to move my family out when the waters became excessively muddy. I'm never a desperate person ok. Let's leave that anyway. Do you know if it'll be possible I file all documentations alone. You are welcome. I want to try and give you the facts alongside my opinion without being judgmental (I no longer have a right to be judgmental on this issue because people I love have gone this US route , I do not understand it but I have accepted it). You can complete the process with them as non-accompanying. People over 18 need PCC I think (should be 18). My interpretation of your next set of questions is that you want to see how it can work inspite of over-staying because you still intend to overstay. Let me offer you an option which is viable if you can source for some cash, quickly seek admission into a University and then apply to stay for the study (this has to be done before the 6-months stay expire), this way you can convert your status to legal and still get to process the Canadian PR whilst you are in the US legally. I do not know the exact process for this conversion of status, you will need to do the research yourself. Please note that this status conversion is not a visa, therefore you cannot leave the US during your period of study, once you do, you need another visa to go back in. Let me attempt a list of pros and cons of illegal stay in the US, others can chip in Pros: Living in a sane environment, everywhere is well laid out, streets do not look like the kind you find in Ipaja or Yaba Free, good-quality education for your kids, the sky is their limit Social amenities... All the above pros you will get in Canada as a legal migrant. Cons: You will make money but you will never make enough to live really well, life will just be a cycle of paying bills without being able to save much You will not be able to lease a house in your name (someone has to do it for you) You will not be able to buy a house, take a mortgage etc Sight of the police will make your heart skip a bit from time to time You must never commit an offence (minor traffic infractions can land you back in Nigeria without a dime) God forbid your parents are ill in Nigeria, you will not be able to come home to see them or bury your aged Uncertainty of the status of un-documented migrants ....being at the mercy of an executive order by any president.... Wtf...you will not even be able to hold a freaking Cotsco card in your name! Of course there are ways to fixing these things: arrangee marriage , ori olori etc but trust me they all have their pitfalls, I can tell you several stories but am sure your siblings have seen enough people do it and get away with it, so it will look like we are worrying over nothing, let me leave this with a link to the story of a well respected doctor that has delivered so many babies.....what happened when his illegal status caught up with him was just a shame, it was like he had never done anything right in his entire life. Owols: @Owols, nice analysis and I totally agree with you but with caution. ![]() Reasons: 1. The 2018 74,900 projection includes the dependents of the principal applicants (I read it somewhere..whether CIC website, I cant remember) so for every 3500 ITAs issued, I want to believe, the projection will be head-counted for all principal applicants and their dependents. 2. CIC's projections for the year may be for indication purposes only- ie, they may not necessarily fill this quota for many reasons and the touted 2018 figure may just be an immigration "mission statement" for CIC. ![]() ![]() 3. Don't let us be quick to forget that the 2018 74,900 figure is to include Federal Skilled Workers Class (that's us), Federal Skilled Trades and Canadian Experience Class. It will end in praise IJN! 1 Like |

If you're in the US on a visit visa and you are now an overstay, you MAY not be able to obtain Canada PR through express entry. The reason i say this is, unless you were legally admitted for one year or more it is immaterial whether you're now an overstay, you can apply. For this, i don't know whether to treat legally admitted for one year to mean the US visa itself which is for 2 years or if it refers to the CBP stamp which is usually 6 months. (I'll advise you do research on it). For medicals and PCC etc, i can assure you that, you can do it from any country provided it is the designated hospital. For PCC i know people in the US without status who have obtained US PCC from FBI without issues. If i were you, i'll advise you to proceed with the application, you may be lucky. Every case is different. ddshow: |
