Most characters are not present on the computer keyboard whether you are using a physical keyboard or a touch keyboard. You might want to type this © symbol and you find it difficult to locate it on your computer keyboard, you could search online for the symbol that you would like to use and do a copy-and-paste into the program that you are using but it is inefficient but works for quickly inserting the occasional obscure symbol.
