the second picture if properly looked at suggests a darker skin tone something (ligature marks) you won't pass for Normal if you are in the forensic unit ,this is an obvious sign of crushed muscles in the neck region .

secondly a closer look at the hands suggested she may have been tied my guess will be ,she was tied down before been strangled now you must understand the need for the rope ,strangulation is a very violent way to go it forces the victim in to a fight/flight mode ,they will pinch, bite ,kick ,even break their own bones to get air so what better way to ensure that than tying the victim up, which was done tightly seeing the ropes or whatever was used left marks on her hands.

its not an unusual case for a strangled victim to have a bloody nose , actually it supports the theory another theory will be due to blunt force trauma from hitting or punching but seeing no other lethal blunt marks on her body I will hold on to the fact that she was strangled .
