Madrid is a city in spain.. But it is divided between two clubs.. Not all the people of Madrid support Real Madrid, some of them support Atlético Madrid. The people of Barcelona support only one club and that is FC Barcelona.


A study published in Spanish sports paper Diario AS on Saturday shows that Football Club Barcelona has more supporters than any other football team in Europe.

The study by the company Sport Markt calculates that Barcelona has 57.8 million throughout the continent, an increase of 13.7 million on a similar study carried out in 2009.

Back to back BBVA Primera Liga titles have no doubt helped to raise the popularity of the Catalan outfit. Those two titles are can be added to Barca's incredible performances in 2009, when the club also won the Champions League and the World Club Championship along with the Spanish and European Supercups, to lift every trophy it is possible to win in a calendar year.

Barcelona has also begun the new season in fine style by winning the 2010 Spanish Supercup with a 5-3 aggregate win against Sevilla.

Barcelona leads its most direct rival - Real Madrid by 26 million fans, because while Barca's fortunes have grown, those of Real Madrid have gone into decline.

The club from the Spanish capital last year invested over $300 million US dollars to bring World famous players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, but that investment has not resulted in titles.

Third in the list is Manchester United with 30.6 million followers, Chelsea, with 21.4 million fans and Bayern Munich with 20.7 million.

Madrid also has a huge fan support but it is not liked as much as barcelona.
