By NewsDesk,

The Lagos State Government has said that there was need for all hand to come on deck so as to holistically address challenges being experienced in area of waste management with the implementation of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative (CLI), just as he it assured that the issue would be addressed before the rainy season.

He informed that both the government and residents in the state would have to jointly address the challenges, alongside Visionscape and Private Sector Participation (PSP) operators working together, and that with cooperation of people, the challenges would soon be over.

It stated that the CLI was introduced in 2017 to foster broad reforms in solid waste management and that the scheme remained the panacea for delivering efficient, effective and sustainable environment with its attendant benefits such as job creation, cleaner, safer and healthy environment.

The Commissioner, Lagos State Ministry of Environment, Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti, disclosed that the government, in partnership with all stakeholders, was working hard to address the challenge and that the lingering issues would soon be a thing of the past.

Oga Ambode, please allow PSP operators to continue collecting waste in Lagos stat . No matter how Visionscape package, it has shown and proven that it does not understand waste management of a mega city like Lagos.
