Dubai-based Nigerian big boy, Ray Hushpuppi has replied PDP’s former director of new media, Deji Adeyanju statements, saying EFCC should investigate his source of wealth.

Reacting to a video where he said he will soon return Nigeria's citizenship, Hush wrote;

"Ps: I have done this video far long before Deji and his foolish team of investigation that Ogun will soon kill all of them together. I have been living permanently out of Nigeria for over 8 years and have only visited just once, as I take be problem of Nigeria I no understand, I have never held any public office or even benefited from my country ever since I was born, other places where I have lived they have loved and appreciate and catered for me more than my own people, tell me why I no suppose return una citizenship to una? All the countries I have been they have never convicted me for as little as traffic offense but the country I send money to people wants to investigate me, very funny useless people that just want children of the poor to remain poor and are intimidated and scared about them becoming great and kick them out of power. If we lived in a society where thieves and fraudsters are not revered, and the "big boy" syndrome did not dominate then maybe things would be a lot more better.

The truth is, our image as a country has been mercilessly battered as a result of the actions of these internet fraudsters. Nigerians are seen as fraudsters generally. Its so bad that if you check Uncyclopedia, Nigerians are used not only in the definition but as the definition. Even in certain American movies, they feel it won't sound authentic if they don't use Nigeria as an example. Reminds me of "The Story of Jimmy Rebel", S03E04 of the Boondocks where Uncle Ruckus made a reference to Nigeria in his statement: "He caught the Nigerian monkey pox, as if the internet scams and underwear bombs were not enough."

For the fact that it's the truth about us, it should be taken as a call for moral ablution. To those who are sympathetic to crime and its proceeds, it doesn't pay. Do not be persuasively influenced by the spirit of success.

Is it blogging? Who can compete with Linda Ikeji & Bella Naija? Is it website development? There are well established firms who have rooted their names in the world of web development. Please who can tell me another job that can be done with a computer that hasn't been handcuffed by a particular individual?

Imagine in the whole of Nigeria, not a single Tier 1 DATA CENTER before thinking of Tier 3! Because before you can say that there is a data center in Nigeria, that data center has to have a 99.99% uptime. Which is not possible in Nigeria giving the type of power sector we have. And any data center with it's primary source of electricity as generator, will be losing most of it's profit to petrol. In this 21st/22nd century where the IT industry is booming, Nigeria does not have a Tier 1 data center.

South Africa & Malaysia are raking in contracts from Facebook, Google & other IT companies. Nigeria is here raking in what? Nigeria lost 3 data center construction projects to South Africa. 3 DIFFERENT DATA CENTERS! Do you know how it would have boosted the economy of Nigeria? Do you know that it would have created jobs for more than 3 million Nigerian youths? But because of our greedy politicians who can't improve the power sector, those 3 million youths now are in the streets.

What most people won't understand is, having INTERNET FRAUDSTERS in a country is inevitable. As long as there is internet in that country, there must me internet fraudsters. There is NO country on earth that doesn't have internet fraudsters. Even in the US, they have the most sophisticated fraudsters there.

The problem with Nigeria is that, those in power are too too greedy. If they could invest the country's money on her citizens instead of moving it to some offshore account somewhere, the youth's will have more opportunities to earn a living. Hence reducing the number of fraudsters.

They say yahoo boys scam people of their hard earned money. But also do politicians. When they take the money meant for the people & put it in another country.

I'm not in support of yahoo boys, but if i had the power to eridcate either all the yahoo boys or all the politicians, I'll eridcate all the politicians ASAP & leave the yahoo boys. Because those politicians are the root of all the problems.

Today they will support someone like Noble Igwe for out of the blue naming businesses and people EFCC should unprovocatively go after, calling his actions "Noble". Tomorrow, same people will go after someone else for doing the same.

I don't support crime in any sort of form, but I honestly wish EFCC was going after the "untouchable criminals" of this country with the same enthusiasm and vigour. Yes internet crime is common in Nigeria but Nigeria is not the leading country for internet scams, on the contrary... we aren't even in the top 10 globally. That the country has been made a global "scapegoat" or the international face of internet fraud is part ignorance part racism on the part of the people promoting such an image.

If You find that unbelievable then you have also fallen into that global crowd mentality, because the statistics are out there for anyone who cares to make a simple 1 minute research to see, but the world is lazy.
