MEN'S HEALTH: Strictly For 40 And Above!!! by sandyo: 3:12pm On May 16, 2018
Hi.
My name is Sandra Okocha, and most times called Coach Sandra. I am the Head Nutritionist, and Health and Wellness Consultant (certified) with HealthandBeauty102 healthy living consulting firm. I specialize in Men's Health especially Prostate and Sexual health challenges (Testosterone level drop, frequent urge to urinate, painful urination, quick ejaculation, Erectile Dysfunction etc).

Over the past 5 years, I have had quite a number of people, mostly men in their 40s, and above 40, reach out to me with complaints that are more or less the same.

I have since concluded that a lot of men, especially those above 40, suffer greatly because they were ignorant about the symptoms to look at for to help them overcome impending health challenges such as their Prostate, Testosterone Level drops and Sexual Health challenges as they attain or nears the age 40 .

Some others are already going through serious health challenges with absolutely no solution in sight.

I am starting this thread primarily for the above-stated class of men with a view to providing SOLUTIONS to men's health challenges, answering whatever questions you might have and providing a platform where experiences can be shared.

Please feel free to reach out to me either through this thread or privately using +2349049517574 (whatsapp | call | SMS) or info@healthandbeauty102.com.
Thanks and stay healthy from the inside out...

THE ONLY SOLUTION AT MIDDLE AGE, IS LIFESTYLEYLE CHANGE
As we grow older, beginning from 40 years and above. There is nothing better than a total lifestyle change to preserve us and keep us healthy.

After 40 if you still want to keep living like a child, you might not make it past middle age.
If however such individuals make it while living like children, then they might suffer a lot of health problems as they age.

One of the first things someone over forty years should consider will be a life of moderation.

*Drink moderately

*eat healthily and wisely

*sleep enough and don't deprive yourself of sleep because of partying, hanging out and all such youthful desires and occupations.

Regular exercises should not be missed. Because at the age of forty and above the vital organs of a human being will need some aiding to function properly through exercising.

Any man who after 40 still consumes alcohol like a little boy and indulge freely in all the things he did at age 20 or 25, does not understand that the body is no more the same as it used to be.

Many deaths, stroke, erectile dysfunction issues, heart problems, etc, that occur amongst middle age people today, can be avoided if people of this age group will just embark on a lifestyle change.

I have seen friends, neighbors and relatives who like me are middle-agers but suffer like old men, die untimely, play with so much Viagra because of an erectile problem. This ought not to be, lifestyle change is the answer.

At middle age a lot of changes takes place in us, living is not as strong as we use to be before.
Therefore we can't put unnecessary pressures that only youthful bodies can take, on our aging bodies.

Eating time should be reduced to 7 pm because anything after 8 pm is poison to the system of a middle-aged person.

*Red meat should be substituted with white meat.

*Sugar,

*iced cold water

*Lots of salt should be avoided.

Instead Load up on high-fiber fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Your whole digestive system does slow as you age, so fiber is very important.
Consume fiber-rich foods such as:

*whole grains,

*fruit,

*vegetables
They will help you feel more energetic and give you fuel to keep going.

Regular check up on our blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, breast, prostate and so on will be very helpful.

Bless you, all fellow middle-agers, we have gotten to that stage when we don't think of every other person and leave ourselves unattended to, think of yourself more now, you need to stay well.

After the age of 50, one may experience many types of illnesses.
But the one I am most worried about is Alzheimer's. Not only would I not be able to look after myself, but it would cause a lot of inconvenience to family members.

How can you tell if your prostate gland is enlarging or its already enlarged?

Let's go through this questionnaires together:

* Do you urinate more than 2 times at night before morning?

* Do you usually have that strong urge to urinate only to get to the toilet and nothing comes out from your plumbing area?

* Has your sex experience become a painful one?

* How is your Erection? does it have a low self-esteem or None at all? smiley

* Can you sit for a 30 mins office/business meeting without excusing yourself for several bathroom trips?

* Do you feel pain when you urinate?

* Do you feel pain in your plumbing area?

Prostate issues cannot be overemphasized because No fewer than 14 men die daily from prostate cancer in Nigeria, according to Dr. Emmanuel Ajibolajeje, a Consultant Urologist, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about 80% of men will eventually need treatment for prostate problems.

No wonder prostate has been described as a time-bomb ticking away in the plumbing area of every male.

REMEMBER: "Taking care of your prostate gland is taking care of your manhood” – Dr. James Balch

Seven things ALL men over 40 should know to stay healthy

Middle-aged men are twice as likely to have diabetes as women and four out of five suicides are male. Men are also more likely to drink heavily, smoke and be overweight.

ONE: Prevention is key

If you are aged between 40 and 74 you should be invited for a routine NHS Health Check every five years.

You should also talk to a health consultant or a health coach every now and then.

These checks not only measure your risk they also are there to offer advice on how to prevent problems.

They can pick up on early signs of conditions including heart disease, strokes, kidney disease and dementia – our risk of which all increase with age.

Once you have had your check-up a health professional will talk you through any treatments or lifestyle measures you should make.

TWO: You can eat yourself healthier

"Whilst no single food is going to reduce the risk of disease, there are five key ones that men should regularly include in their diet", says Rob Hobson Healthspan Head of Nutrition:

Salmon: Omega 3 fats in oily fish can help reduce the risk of heart disease, the leading cause of premature death in men in the UK. Factors affecting the risk of heart disease are also closely associated with erectile dysfunction.

Eat one or two servings a week or take a supplement as an alternative (send DM to 09083813724 for the supplement).

Steak: Lean beef steak is rich in zinc – a mineral which has many functions in the body such as the immune system, cell growth, and male fertility.

Zinc has also been associated with good prostate health.

A steak will provide you with most of your daily recommended intake of zinc.

Not for every day though - other sources include seeds, green vegetables, pulses, nuts, mushrooms, and shellfish.

Red peppers: These are one of the richest sources of vitamin C and also include lycopene (an antioxidant pigment that can help reduce cell damage).

Lycopene and vitamin C have been associated with good prostate health.

Include as one of your five a day.

Seven things ALL men over 40 should know to stay healthy

continuing from where we stopped on the previous post

One condition that is important to check for particularly as you hit your 40s is Type 2 Diabetes

THREE: Watch that middle-aged middle

"One condition that is important to check for particularly as you hit your 40s", says Kate Taylor, Pharmacist at Lloyds Pharmacy, "is Type 2 Diabetes - which left untreated can lead to serious health problems. If identified early and correctly managed people can maintain a healthy lifestyle and in some cases even reverse the condition."

Kate points out one of the factors that put men at increased risk is a waist measurement of 37 inches or above – so keep an eye on that wine belly.

Losing just 4cm from your waist can help.

To find out how at risk you are going to LloydsPharmacy.com/healthcheck where you can also book a free appointment with your local Lloyds pharmacist.

FOUR: Get your head around mental health issues

A 2016 survey for the Men’s Health Forum found the majority of men said whereas they would take time off work to deal with a worrying physical symptom less than one in five would do the same over concerns about their mental health.

Over a third waited over two years to even confide in a friend or family member.

With the help of some high-profile men including Prince Harry (who has helped set up mental health charity Heads Together), Stephen Fry and Zayn Malik and initiatives like time to change the stigma around mental health appears to be changing as we are encouraged to be more open and supportive of the one in four men fighting a mental health condition.

FIVE: You can improve your fertility

Dr. Pixie McKenna, GP and Health & Well-being Ambassador for Superdrug, said: "Sperm counts are declining and lifestyle factors can compromise male reproductive health.

"Being overweight and having a poor diet, smoking, drinking, recreational drug use can have an impact on a man’s fertility as can any undiagnosed sexual infection. This can lead to problems as more and more couples are having babies later in life.

"To optimize your sperm count try to keep generally healthy. You could also take a sperm count test but do allow around four months after making relevant lifestyle changes to see improvements.

"Research also shows supplements that have L-Carnitine and selenium can have a positive impact on sperm quality.’(send DM to 09083813724 for the supplement)

POINT SIX: Bone up on bone health

It’s long been seen as a ‘women’s issue’ but Professor David Reid, Consultant Rheumatologist and Osteoporosis Specialist at 25 Harley Street explained that men over 50 who have had a fracture or have a family history of osteoporosis should consider having their bone density measured to assess their risk.

He told Express.co.uk: "If bone density is found to be low there are self-help measures men can take including stopping smoking, drinking less alcohol, getting enough calcium in their diet (a pint of milk rather than beer…) and keep vitamin D levels topped up by 20 minutes of daily exposure to sunlight or take a supplement."

POINT SEVEN: You can get fitter in 10 minutes

Celebrity personal trainer, Nicola Addison, at London’s EQVVS Training said: "No matter how unfit you are, there is always someone un-fitter! The hardest part is getting motivated to exercise.

"My advice starts by walking and walk every day. Build up from 10 minutes a day to three slots of 10 minutes daily to 30 continuous minutes.

"When you can do this comfortably, try incorporating more flexibility exercises like squats and the plank."

Mental health warning: THIS factor is linked to risk of early death in men

MENTAL health awareness has grown, but new data indicates that sufferers still have an increased risk of early death.

Mental health is the psychological and emotional wellbeing of a person and includes anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and post-natal depression.

Mental disorders: Nigeria ranks 30th most suicide-prone worldwide; yet health care systems keep failing citizens.
Depression, a UK-based Mental Health Foundation, said: “is a common mental disorder that causes people to experience depressed mood, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, low energy, and poor concentration.”
It is “different from feeling down or sad,” it went on to say on its website, adding: “Unhappiness is something which everyone feels at one time or another, usually due to a particular cause.
A person experiencing depression will experience intense emotions of anxiety, hopelessness, negativity, and helplessness, and the feelings stay with them instead of going away.”

It is estimated one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year.

New research has found that depression, one of the most common types of mental health, is strongly linked to a higher risk of early death.

According to a study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, there was a higher long-term risk of early death for both men and women with the condition.

“There is less stigma associated with depression, better treatments are available, but depression's link to mortality still persists," said Dr Stephen Gilman

They discovered that there was a link between depression and increased risk of death in men throughout all the decades.

Depression has been linked to poorer diet, lack of exercise, smoking and alcohol consumption.

But the researchers said this did not explain the increased risk of death in this case, suggesting that changes in modern society might be to blame.

There are tested and proven supplements that can help to manage mental issues such as depression, insomnia etc effectively. But I can't share that on this platform because they did not pay for advert... wink

Eating just This One Thing Daily; will Reduce Your Risk of Heart Disease

A new study published in the journal Heart has found that eating one egg every day;

can significantly reduce your risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases.

If you're worried about heart disease, there’s a lot that you can do to give your cardiovascular health a boost.

Cutting out smoking, even if it’s just one a day, is one of them.

Walking for just 40 minutes several times per week is another (especially for post-menopausal women).

Going to the sauna on a regular basis helps, as does eating the right food.

Now, a new study, published in the journal Heart, has found that eating one egg every day;

can significantly reduce your risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases.

While eggs have long been considered a staple in a healthy diet;

they’ve also gotten a bad reputation as of late due to their high cholesterol.

And previous research on the link between heart health and eggs have had relatively small sample sizes.

On the other hand, study, led by Canqing Yu, associate professor at Peking University School of Public Health in Beijing.

Analyzed the results of a whopping 416,213 Chinese adults between the ages of 30, 79 over the course of  9years.

A little over 13% of these participants said they ate an egg every day, while 9% abstained from them altogether.

The results found that the daily egg eaters had a 26% lower risk of hemorrhagic stroke,

a 28% lower risk of dying from this type of stroke,

and a 12% reduced risk of ischemic heart disease.

The study has its drawbacks, most notably that it’s purely observational;

therefore does not control for other factors that might have impacted the heart health of its participants.

Yu herself noted that translating the results to an American audience is complicated;

by the fact that the Chinese have a very different overall diet than ours.

Still, the results suggest that eating one egg a day, or slightly less, is beneficial to a healthy heart,

because they are packed with high-quality protein and other disease-fighting nutrients.

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends eating one a day as well in order to get all of the benefits;

while limiting your daily cholesterol intake to 300 mg.

7 Amazing Health Benefits of Saunas
HAVING A GOOD SWEAT IS BETTER FOR YOU THAN YOU EVER IMAGINED.
Saunas have long been known to have mystical healing properties, and in places like Scandinavia and Eastern Europe;

their popularity is so widespread that many people have them installed in their homes or backyards.

A brief history:
Saunas were once very popular all over Europe, but when plague spread in the 1500s;

its popularity died out everywhere except Finland (which was spared of these communicable diseases),

which is why the sauna is now so closely culturally associated with that country.

A traditional Finnish sauna is a small, wooden room, in which wood is burned for several hours,

and the smoke is released, leaving behind an arid, extreme heat that hovers between 160 and 220 degrees Fahrenheit.

One would sit in the sauna for no less than five but no more than thirty minutes,

sweating and occasionally throwing water from a bucket onto a pile of hot rocks to give off steam and a sense of increased temperature,

then emerge to either jump into an ice pool, rinse off with a cold shower, or, if you’re very traditional, jump into a mound of fresh snow.

While it may look a bit bizarre to an insider, the process is not only fun, but it has several incredible health benefits.

1. It Increases Blood Circulation
The study used 102 people in their 40s and 50s who did not have heart disease but did have risk factors for it,

such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or obesity, and exposed them to a single Finnish sauna session.

They found that the just one session made an average participant’s blood pressure drop by seven points,

elasticized their arteries, and helped their heart rate go from 65 bpm to 81.

Dr. Joshua Liberman, a cardiologist, and governor of the American College of Cardiology’s Wisconsin;

said that the long-term cardiovascular benefits of frequent saunas sessions can be attributed to the way in which extreme heat in small doses causes the blood vessels to relax and blood flow to increase.

2. It’s Good for Your Heart
According to a new study from the University of Eastern Finland,

a 30-minute sauna session can have the same effects on your heart and blood vessels as moderate exercise,

which is why those who frequent the sauna tend to have lower blood pressure, an increased heart rate, and lower risk of heart disease.

The sweating, researcher Tanjaniina Laukkanen explained, has “a natural diuretic effect —

lowering blood pressure and decreasing the workload of the heart.”

3. It’s Relaxing
Anyone who’s ever stepped inside the sauna at their gym knows lying with your eyes closed in this warm,

the dry room can be extremely meditative, and that’s part of what makes it so therapeutic.

It helps that you can’t really bring electronics with you into the sauna as well,

allowing you to truly escape and unwind from the outside world.

4. It’s Good for Your Skin
The sauna can help “open up your pores and increase blood and lymphatic circulation, which will effectively aid in softening your skin.

“You will notice a healthy pink glow in your skin, which will make you look younger,

so not only will you feel good but you will also look rejuvenated.”

A single session can also get rid of blackheads, and flush out toxins, thereby leading to smooth, healthy skin.

5. It Can Help You Lose Weight
While it won’t make you burn fat, the sweating that you do in the sauna does help you lose a bit of water weight,

which will make you feel considerably lighter, especially after a weekend of heavy drinking.

6. It Keeps You Sharp
In a more surprising discovery, Laukkanen’s team found that sauna regulars had lower rates of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia,

thanks in large part to the fact that the sauna lowers your blood pressure.

“Both the heart and the brain need good blood vessel function,” Laukkanen said. And for more instant health fixes

7. It’s a Cultural Experience
Many different cultures have their own version of the sauna.

You’re probably already familiar with the Turkish Hamam, or steam room, in which

ambient steam is used to help open up the mucous membranes in the body, thereby helping you breathe.

In Korea, you’ve got the jjimjilbang, a segregated public bathhouse filled with hot tubs and kilns (thermally insulated chamber)

filled with jade, salt minerals, and other healing properties.

Russians have the banya, or bathhouse, which is similar to the Finnish sauna, apart from the fact that;

there is a wooden cauldron inside, with a ladle that you use to pour warm water over your body.

Commercial Russian “banyas” take a cue from Roman thermaes in that they consist of a complex that includes;

swimming pools, a wet sauna, a dry sauna, and even a restaurant, so that people may congregate and spend the entire day there.

7 Ways to Boost Testosterone – Guaranteed

Testosterone is the dominant sex hormone in men.
It is responsible for the development of male sexual organs and secondary male sexual characteristics such as muscle growth and strength, and facial and body hair.

Levels of testosterone in the blood gradually elevate through puberty where they peak and remain high until about the age of 30 when levels will start to naturally decline (about 1% per year).

When levels of testosterone become abnormally low, a condition called hypogonadism is diagnosed.

In middle-aged men (say 45+) and older, low testosterone levels are often termed male menopause or “andropause.

The symptoms of low testosterone include erectile dysfunction, reduced sex drive, irritability, depressed mood, sleep disturbances, loss of concentration, diminished muscle mass and strength, and a general loss of interest in work and play.

And one recent study made a correlation between low testosterone and premature death in men.

The best natural testosterone booster is weight loss, says Scott Isaacs, M.D., medical director of Atlanta Endocrine Associates.

For more than 50 percent of people who have low testosterone, weight is a critical factor.
I have a lot of patients who can very often get their testosterone into the normal range by dropping pounds through diet and exercise.

These T-boosting tips can help you do that.

7 Things to Try Before Utilizing the Medical Approach

The good news is there are ways to increase testosterone without the hormone replacement and these steps should probably be tried before resorting to the medical approach:

1. Lose About 17 Pounds

A Massachusetts General Hospital study found that overweight middle-aged men who dropped about 17 pounds over the course of a year lowered their likelihood of having low T by 46 percent.

2.Sip Pomegranate

Study results presented at the U.K.’s Society for Endocrinology 2012 conference found that people who drank pure pomegranate juice daily for two weeks increased their salivary T levels by an average of 24 percent.

3.Lift More, Rest Less

Heavier weights, more volume (2 to 4 sets of 8 to 15 reps) and resting for less than two minutes between sets will kick your T up a notch, according to a 2012 study in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.

4. Sleep Deeper

Like human growth hormone, testosterone seems to be linked to deep, restorative sleep. A 2011 study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that just one week of sleep deprivation (five hours a night) drove T levels down 10 to 15 percent in healthy young men.

5. Clean Up Right

Some liquid soaps, body washes, and other personal care products contain the antimicrobial triclosan, which animal studies suggest can lower levels of testosterone. Also, avoid plastic food containers that have bisphenol A (BPA)–a known endocrine disruptor.

6. Take a Testosterone Supplement

consider supplementing with these nutrients to build your testosterone levels, drug-free:

*Zinc – necessary for testosterone production. Dietary zinc is mainly found in animal sources so vegans should consider supplementing. Non-Vegans would benefit from supplementation as well due to the depleted nature of the feeds that are used in the meat industry.

*Vitamin D3 – increases testosterone levels. Maintaining adequate levels is difficult without supplementation, especially in winter if you are outside Nigeria.

*L-arginine – an amino acid that helps the body eliminate estrogen. Contacts us to get all of these supplements they are 100% proven, tested and Natural, our contact is at the end of this article.

*Acetyl-L-Carnitine – increases testosterone production. Also promotes fat metabolism and muscle growth.

7. Reduce your stress

prayer, meditation, yoga, tai chi, or vigorous exercise. One or more of these will help to support testosterone levels as well as overall well-being if used regularly.

Obviously, the natural approach takes more thought, time and planning than rubbing a little cream on your thigh twice a day.
But, considering the potential negative side effects of replacement drugs and the overall health benefits brought on by taking the natural route; it may be worth the effort.

Note: If you want the supplement for extra strength locally called man-power, instead of going with Viagra which has negative side effects. Contact us for a natural and 100% organic supplement that gives you a lifetime experience and not a one-off thing...

6 surprising things that are actually aging you

Wear sunscreen, don’t forget eye cream, avoid cigarettes: We all know the drill when it comes to feeling (and looking) our most youthful selves. But what if we told you that late-night binge-watching session wasn’t doing you any favors either? Here, six surprising things that are actually aging you (and what to do about them)

1. our Office Happy Hour
Of course, this won’t stop us from getting our groove on come 5 p.m. Friday. But alcohol is a natural diuretic, and long-term dehydration can lower skin’s elasticity, thereby causing wrinkles. But the bad news doesn’t stop there: According to a recent study from the Research Society on Alcoholism, drinking too many cocktails can also cause harm on the cellular level and lead to “age-related illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and dementia.” (We’ll have a lemon water this time, thanks.)

2. Your Daily Commute
Nope, it’s not just the fact that the guy texting and driving from the car with the “MUSL BODY” license plate in front of you is making you pull your hair out. Traffic-related pollution (think: the giant puffs of exhaust coming from the semi truck two cars up) can actually cause an increase in age spots, says a study from the Journal of Investigative Dermatology. Windows: rolled.

3. Your Job Stress
You have a huge report due tomorrow, your toilet decided to stop working this morning and your bank just called to say they noticed some weird activity on your card (maybe we will have that rum and coke after all). Everyday stressors take a toll, but not just in the short run. According to one Umeå University study, stress steroids released in the brain can accelerate the onset of Alzheimer’s Disease, while another study found that job-related stress can cause harmful changes to our DNA that are linked to a multitude of degenerative diseases.

4. Your Posture
We’ve told you some super-easy ways to improve it, but in case that wasn’t enough motivation, here’s some explanation for why you should sit up straighter. Aside from giving you back and neck pain, poor posture can lead to a weakened spine and increased spinal curvature down the road. Further, a study published last year from the University of Idaho found that older adults with better posture actually showed increased cognitive function, while those with worse posture had a more difficult time recalling memories.

5. Your Lack Of Sleep
We know, we know: House of Cards is calling your name, and you’re already aware not getting enough quality zzzs each night is linked to numerous health problems in the long run, from increased risk of heart disease to obesity. But did you know that your rough nights could also make you appear older as well? According to one study from University Hospitals Case Medical Center, patients who defined themselves as poor sleepers showed increased skin-aging effects such as “fine lines, uneven pigmentation, and slackening of skin.” Well, looks like it’s our bedtime.

6. Your Devices
It’s not just wreaking havoc on your 10 p.m. bedtime goal (curse you, Instagram!). Your smartphone is also causing damage to your eyesight, says a University of Melbourne study that found links between long-term blue light exposure from screens and age-related macular degeneration. Hey, we’re not saying you have to go off the grid from now on. But you might want to rethink cuddling up to your iPhone before bed every night.

There are supplements that can help bring back your youthful days and enable you to do all the things you use to do when you were in your late 20s.
It can also help fix the problems like Macular degeneration, heart disease to obesity, cognitive function and Alzheimer’s Disease etc.

Just imagine yourself waking up to have the body of a 28 years old man when you are above 40! That could be you...

You should ideally share you ideas here for the benefit if everyone
sandyo:

God's blessings are upon you to protect you and provide for you in Jesus Name Amen...

Back to Business lolz...

We want to discuss briefly one of the key factors that affect HEART HEALTH, BRAIN HEALTH, VISION/EYE HEALTH,
In fact virtually all organs in the body!

What could it be?

Let us focus on Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly the two most important types—docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).

“Research shows that omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation and may help lower the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis.

Omega-3 fatty acids are highly concentrated in the brain and appear to be important for cognitive (brain memory and performance)

and behavioral function.” – University of Maryland Medical Center.

Omega-3 fatty acids are crucial to the development and function of the human body like the heart health, brain health, and vision or eye health.

Additionally, Omega-3’s deliver some powerful health benefits that make omega-3’s an important part of our daily diet.

When this important type of fatty acid is not consumed regularly, different types of symptoms can surface.

These symptoms range from cognitive (e.g. depression and memory loss) to physical (e.g. inflammation and arthritis.)

It’s worth noting that the degree to which this vital fat source is neglected often coincides with the severity of symptoms.

Let us take this a little step further:

EPA and DHA—Which Do You Need?

Let us focus on Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly the two most important types—docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).

Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties.

They have been studied for the treatment and prevention of many diseases, several of which are related to inflammation,

including heart disease, stroke, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease.

They have also been shown to be extraordinarily helpful in preventing and treating other brain conditions such as;

depression and other psychiatric disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and concussions

While the omega-3s DHA and EPA have different functions in the body, both are important for optimal health.

Benefits of EPA

There is still confusion, even among experts, as to the individual roles of EPA and DHA—especially given the fact that EPA can be converted to DHA.

That being said, much of the data supports the role of EPA as a potent anti-inflammatory and anti-clotting compound.

How does this work?

Well, there is a family of inflammatory compounds, collectively known as eicosanoids, derived from the omega-6 fatty acid arachidonic acid.

EPA lessens the production of these eicosanoids and their resulting inflammation in a number of important ways.

First, EPA inhibits the enzyme that produces arachidonic acid.

Second, EPA impedes the release of arachidonic acid from cell membranes (where it is stored) and its metabolization once it is released.

Without this release and metabolization, your body can’t make eicosanoids.

The result is a lower risk of the inflammation that would have been caused by all that arachidonic acid going to eicosanoids.

What about blood clotting?

Circulating cells called platelets are critical in causing your blood to clot. When platelets are activated, they aggregate and cause clots.

If these clots occur in particularly sensitive regions of your body, they can lead to a heart attack or stroke.

EPA reduces platelet activation, an early step in platelet aggregation to help to reduce clotting.

One study found that EPA was superior to DHA in decreasing platelet activation, a precursor to blood clotting.1

While the anti-inflammatory and anti-clotting properties of EPA are instrumental in many areas of health,

You can’t talk about EPA without talking about DHA…

Let's stop here for now, in our next post we will look at the Benefits of  DHA  and we will decide on which one to choose.

so keep a date with us...

What is Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acid

Hello there.

I am very happy to be here today with everybody and want to say thank you to all our readers and subscribers.

Today will be about Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, the difference, its importance, and benefits to our heart.
Before I dive in, something very funny happened recently at home smiley.

My four-year-old son went to school with my Omega 3 supplement and started giving a health presentation.

He was a scientist on the day of their school science and art's exhibition.

I was surprised to hear what he said during his talk, he taught his classmate and teachers,

-a little of what he knows about my omega 3 supplement (don't want to name the product cus they didn't pay me for the advert).

"he said my mum's omega 3 is the only soap that can wash butter and cheese away from the water pipe inside our heart

so that we don't die like a heart attack" lolzzzz smiley smiley smiley.

when you hear my rendition of the presentation you will laugh and roll on the ground.

That is why we advise parents not to say or do the wrong things in front of their toddlers, they are very smart and sharp.

Back to the Business of the day what is omega 3?.

Back to Basics: Essential fatty acids defined…

The body can make most of the fats it needs to function.

But certain fats—known as essential fatty acids (EFAs)—must come from the diet alone.

Our bodies don’t have the necessary enzymes to make them. Both of these fatty acids are needed for growth and repair.

Such is the case with the omega-3 and omega-6 families of fatty acids.

Both omega-3 (ω-3) and omega-6 (ω-6) fatty acids are important components of cell membranes and are-

-precursors to many other substances in the body such as those involved with regulating blood pressure and inflammatory responses.

There is increasing support for omega-3 fatty acids in protecting against fatal heart disease and it is known that-

-they have anti-inflammatory effects, which may be important in this and other diseases.

There is growing interest in the role of omega-3 fatty acids in the prevention of diabetes and certain types of cancer.

TYPES OF OMEGA-3 EFA

Within each family of fatty acid, there are specific fatty acids that come from different parts of our food supply.

For example, there are a few types of omega-3 fatty acids; the most common omega-3s are alpha-linolenic

acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

ALA is found in plants, primarily flaxseeds, chia seeds, walnuts, and their oils.

EPA and DHA are called long-chain omega-3 fatty acids because they have 20 or more carbons in their structure.

These fatty acids are found in fatty fish such as albacore tuna, herring, salmon, mackerel, sardines, and trout.

Most scientific and clinical studies carried out to date have examined the effectiveness of this long-chain omega-3s found in fish.

Consequently, most scientists who work in this area believe these are the omega-3s that have the greatest anti-inflammatory

-and brain-protective benefits.

ALA is a plant-based precursor to EPA and DHA, meaning your body in some cases can convert it into EPA and DHA.

However, some research has shown that this conversion is not all that effective, and credible studies indicate that individual humans

-have dramatically different capacities to carry out this conversion.

So to be safe, most studies indicate that you are better off getting your omega-3s from fish rather than plant sources.

There are also several commonly found omega-6 fatty acids that include linoleic acid (LA), gamma-linolenic acid (GLA),

and arachidonic acid (AA). LA is by far the most common fatty acid found in the human food supply.

It is a primary fatty acid found in cooking oils, including vegetable, corn, canola, peanut, soybean, safflower, and sunflower.

GLA is in less common oils—mainly borage, black currant seed, and evening primrose.

AA is found in red meat, eggs, and poultry products.

The proper omega-6 and the omega-3 ratio

Do we need both omega-6s and omega-3s in our diet? The short answer is, yes, we do.

Our body requires both of these fatty acids for proper growth, immune response, repair, and brain development.

However, omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids have very different functions.

Omega-6 fatty acids are the precursors of several molecules that cause Inflammation, which we now know is

-the primary driver of most human diseases. In addition to inflammation, omega-6 fatty acids impact blood clotting and cell growth.

In contrast, the omega-3 fatty acids—and especially the long-chain omega-3s—reduce inflammation and blood clotting

-and are critical for brain development and function. When both families of fatty acids are in balance, good health results.

click this link to get the best scientifically proven Omega 3 supplement https://healthandbeauty102.com/what-is-omega-3-and-omega-6-fatty-acid/

But herein lies the problem.

The standard western diet is very high in omega-6s, particularly LA and today we are imbibing this diet!

Especially in the past several decades, with the rise of LA-enriched cooking oils and processed foods,

our intake of omega-6s has skyrocketed.

In fact, the amount of omega-6s we ate 50 years ago represented about 1.5 percent of our calories.

Today, it’s an astounding 7-10 percent.

There is no single nutrient in the modern Western diet that has increased so dramatically over the past

50 years as omega-6 fatty acids.

Since omega-6 fatty acids are converted to pro-inflammatory molecules, several studies suggest that this high omega-6

-(and, comparatively speaking, low omega-3) intake is increasing our risk of systemic inflammation and inflammatory

-diseases—Alzheimer’s, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and asthma, to name a few.

Today, the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is typically 10 to 1 or greater.

Ideally, your ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids should be closer to 2 to 1.

But with vegetable oils and processed foods so common in the standard American diet,

-even the most diligent dieter tends to consume way more omega-6s than necessary.

This imbalance both reduces the amount of omega-3s in circulation and in tissues and overrides the powerful

-and important benefits of omega-3s that you do get in your diet.

To tip the scales in favor of anti-inflammatory omega-3s, you need to limit processed foods and vegetable-based oils,

while at the same time consuming more of the omega-3 rich foods listed above.

As an extra insurance policy, I take an omega-3 supplement everyday brain traumas such as concussions.

So you really need a good balance of both to reap their full health benefits.

I take an omega-3 formulation (taken every single day) that contains both compounds,

DHA and EPA in the right proportion, with confidence that I’m doing my heart, brain, and entire body a world of good.

Here is it

The best formulation of Omega3 in the market to reverse Blood Omega 3 deficiency and begin to correct Omega 3: Omega 6 ratio

Look at this scientific study

Why you need to take a good quality Omega 3:

Not all Fish oils/Omega 3 are equal. You need a high-quality one like the one I use, (don't

-want to name the product cus they didn't pay me for the advert)

Omega 3 made from the Arctic sea/Cold water fish which have fish with low mercury level and high omega 3 content...

It is produced using the cold process (unlike most commercially produced Omega 3 made with the hot-

-process that is faster but low-quality yield)!

The higher the BLOOD Omega 3 level, the lower the heart attack risk! Over 90% reduction!!!

A study was done and published in New England Journal of Medicine!!!

It is scientifically proven!

Lagosians wake up to high blood pressure

In Nigeria’s megacity of Lagos, lifestyles resemble those of developed countries and hypertension is increasingly becoming a problem.

Motunrayo Bello reports.

Bulletin of the World Health Organization.

Joseph Otu (not his real name) found out about his blood pressure problem the hard way.

Woke up in the middle of the night with a headache, he had difficulty speaking and

felt weak on one side of his body.

The 54-year-old Nigerian professional driver had no idea what was happening to him but feared the worst.

His family took him to a clinic near his home in Ibafo in the sprawling megacity of Lagos,

where a nurse checked his blood pressure.

Blood pressure readings are comprised of two values: one for systolic and one for diastolic pressure;

anything equal to or above 140 over 90 is considered high.

Otu’s stood at 175 over 110, a level at which he faced an increased risk of stroke, heart attack,

and kidney failure. “We started praying,” says Otu.

The fact that Otu had no idea about his blood pressure status before the clinical diagnosis is not unusual.

High blood pressure requires the heart to work harder than normal to circulate blood through the blood vessels.

The symptoms of high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, are not always obvious, which makes regular check-ups essential.

Need for Creating Awareness For The Dangers Of High Blood Pressure
Nigeria is one of many developing countries where the health services have focused on treating infectious diseases,

such as malaria and tuberculosis, but in recent years, noncommunicable conditions have become an increasing problem.

One of the most prevalent noncommunicable conditions worldwide, hypertension is responsible for an

estimated 45% of deaths due to heart disease and 51% of deaths due to stroke globally.

Of WHO’s six regions, the African region has the highest prevalence of hypertension estimated at 46% of adults aged

25 and above, according to WHO’s Global status report on noncommunicable diseases 2010.

Moreover, the problems caused by hypertension are made worse when people are not aware of the necessity for

– or unable to afford – regular blood pressure checks.

This year’s World Health Day, on 7 April, the aim was to promote more awareness of the causes and consequences

of high blood pressure, as well as how it can be prevented, and to encourage national and local authorities to

do more about this growing problem.

“We hope this campaign will encourage more adults to check their blood pressure but also that health authorities

will make blood pressure measurement affordable for everyone,” says Dr. Shanthi Mendis, a medical officer at WHO.

In many developing countries few people go for routine medical check-ups to monitor the risk factors associated with

noncommunicable diseases. And Nigeria is no exception.

click the link to get the best scientifically proven solution that brings High Blood Pressure back to normal and

remove all cholesterol in the arteries and veins;  https://https://healthandbeauty102.com/lagosians-wake-up-to-high-blood-pressure-2/

Dr. Kingsley Akinroye, executive director of the Nigerian Heart Foundation, a nongovernmental

organization (NGO), says that “the health system offers diagnosis and treatment only to those who pay for it”.

Even when people do go for a medical check-up, diagnosis of such chronic conditions can be

unreliable at primary health level.

Toyin Ogunde, a shopkeeper living in Lagos, another Lagosian that wakes up to high blood pressure,

she went to the doctor reporting headaches and dizziness,

says she was prescribed medication for typhoid and malaria before her family finally persuaded her

to go to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for a second opinion.

“I didn’t know anything about hypertension before I came here,” says the 58-year-old hypertension patient.

WHO/Motunrayo BelloWoman has her blood pressure taken as part of the free hypertension screening programme in Ikorodu, Lagos

Money a barrier to blood pressure check

According to Dr. Olayinka Ogunleye, who works in the hypertension unit at that hospital, it costs around 1000 Nigerian Naira

(US$ 6.36) for a patient to have his or her blood pressure checked.

Ogunleye says that although this fee may deter some people from finding out their blood pressure status,

many others are simply unaware of the health consequences or indifferent to the risks of untreated hypertension.

“People don’t think it is important to spend money and time on their health; they would rather spend more

money on luxuries,” he says.

Currently, fewer than 4% of Nigerians are covered by health insurance.

These include civil servants working for the federal government and women and children under the Maternal and Child Health-

-Project, which is funded by the US government (USAID).

There are plans to roll out coverage for such basic and essential health services including access to diagnosis and

treatment of hypertension under a national health bill, which the federal government is currently considering.

Given the lack of routine blood pressure checks in Nigeria, it is not surprising that the country’s statistics

on hypertension are unreliable.

“Most data are outdated speculation based on mathematical models and surveys that are scanty and unrepresentative with

low validity,”

says Dr. Anthony Usoro, national coordinator for noncommunicable diseases at the Federal Ministry of Health in Abuja.

“The lack of reliable data has made it very difficult for policy-makers to concentrate efforts to control the

emerging health burden of the disease.”

Worse, says Akinroye, the lack of hard data has sometimes been used to deny the existence of the problem.

But for all his concerns regarding the lack of adequate programmes at both the state and federal level,

Akinroye does see signs of a change in attitudes.

He points out the federal government is currently putting together a national policy on noncommunicable diseases.

“The policy is due to be out later this year and will aid the response to hypertension,” he says.

While Nigeria’s plans to tackle the problem, yet to be announced, the factors that are making it worse are clear.

“The high prevalence of hypertension is explained in part by lifestyle changes, many related to changing environmental and social

factors” says Dr. Obinna Ekwunife, a lecturer at the University of Nigeria in the south-eastern town of Nsukka.

Factors Causing High Blood Pressure

Ekwunife cites factors such as increased

*salt

*fat intake from the consumption of processed foods,

*cholesterol in the food we eat causing plaques in the arteries,

*increased tobacco use, and sedentary lifestyles.

“An increasing number of Nigerians are driving to work and participating in jobs with minimal physical activity,”

he says. Nowhere are these problems felt more acutely than in the country’s burgeoning urban areas.

Lagos is a rapidly expanding city that is home to an estimated 10 million people, and, according to a recent

United Nations Habitat report, is projected to overtake Cairo to become the largest city in Africa with 12.4 million

inhabitants in 2015.

As Lagos state commissioner for health, Dr. Jide Idris spends a lot of his time thinking about the particular

heart health challenges faced by the city’s residents, challenges which,

he says, is by no means limited to poor diet and lack of physical activity.

click the link to get the best scientifically proven solution that brings High Blood Pressure back to normal and

remove all cholesterol in the arteries and veins;  https://healthandbeauty102.com/lagosians-wake-up-to-high-blood-pressure-2/

“Urbanization brings risks other than sedentary lifestyles and unhealthy diet.

City life has implications for levels of stress and loss of family cohesion as well,” he says.

Idris is also keen to point out that hypertension is not just a rich man’s problem.

“Hypertension cuts across gender and socioeconomic status,” he says.

Idris emphasizes the importance of traditional prevention efforts, which he says are the main focus of his

strategy in Lagos state.

Free Blood Pressure Checked In Lagos

In recognition of the fact that prevention and diagnosis of hypertension can be weak at primary health care level,

a key aspect of these efforts is to strengthen such services in the state’s 277 clinics.

“We are providing the diagnosis in public health facilities and there are some financial mechanisms that

can support the poor people,” Idris says.

For tertiary care, he says that a new, high tech cardiac and renal center is currently under construction

in Gbagada district in the north of the city.

A key element of Lagos state’s preventive approach is raising public awareness about hypertension

through sponsored advertising in Nigeria’s national daily newspapers.

Lagos state government is also investing in safe walkways alongside roads to allow people to walk without fear

of accidents, encouraging more physical exercise.

Idris says he hopes that state-wide campaigns, using resources such as local government councils,

community-based organizations, and NGOs. are making a difference.

“I personally believe that the awareness is much better than when we started,” he says.

Akinroye too expresses qualified optimism;

Noting that more Nigerians are aware of basic information regarding the dangers of consuming high fat, salt

or tobacco use on blood pressure.

Joseph Otu is one of them. “My doctor told me of the contributing factors,” he says,

“I am now encouraging my friends to eat and live healthier lives so they don’t fall victim like

other Lagosians that wake up to High Blood Pressure.”

Good Morning and a happy new month to all the Daddies, husbands, uncles and granddaddies in the house.
It's another beautiful Monday, the first day of the week and first Monday in the month of July.

Today I am sharing another fresh testimony from one of our client that used our product.

#copied
Good morning.
My name is John Badmus (real name withheld).

My sexual performance was okay to a large extent- I could last up to 10 minutes (sometimes though... lol) on a normal session. I know how to control my performance to last up to 10mins if I choose to.

I only began to use this "supplement" because I wanted to make myself as a control experiment for my parents who I initially bought the "Supplement" for. Sorry, I had to remove the name of the supplement because they didn't pay for advert... lol cheesy

So, I started using it twice a day as it's prescribed on the pack.

But in the morning, I took it as early as 5:45 am when I normally take my one glass of water therapy before leaving the house for my office and I took it at night after dinner before I slept. Because my parents were at that time taking it twice daily as well.

I was on it for two months. But the result started showing only after three weeks. I just discovered that my libido had gone through the roof.
Also, I was staying much longer before I came out of cloud 9 if you get what I mean wink.

I suddenly began to notice my wife's beauty like never before. She too began to get concerned because I kept commenting on her beauty anytime she passed by. My desire for her suddenly increased o shocked.

And while on it, she would wonder that even after 20mins I was yet to get there, you know na!!!

I was enjoying it sha o. I cannot lie smiley. Of course, I get her there first so she will not accuse me of selfishness and every two days I am ready again.

She is getting concerned o. I thought women wanted men that stay longer. My wife said mine has become too much...hahaha (this is somebody that used to complain that I was a 2-minute man ooo hahahaha)

All of this happened after two weeks when our dear consultant Sandra advised that my parents should increase their dosage. So, that meant I also had to increase mine, since I was the control experiment.

It was after one week of starting this new dosage, I noticed that my libido had suddenly skyrocketed.

I began to desire my wife as if we were not married or touched her before- I can't explain the feeling properly. But we have been married for almost 12 years now with two children and, of course, I began to last beyond 15 mins per session.

Even if I tried to make it quicker, it was just enjoyment galore without coming out of cloud nine. My wife began to complain a bit when she noticed all this and was asking if I had discovered another way of extending my pleasure. I told her nooo.

But I later confessed to her, it was since I started using the "supplement" that I also discovered the changes. Even now, whenever she comes close to me in the living room, she is very careful not to arouse me, because mere touching her body with my hand, she knows that I will become hungry for her suddenly, and she does not have all the time for my desires

As for my parents, my mother now goes to the toilet regularly. Before she started using (the same supplement), her bowels used to be tight for as long as 3 days, which is not good for her age.

She informed me last Saturday that all her supplements have finished. So I am going to order another batch today.
Madam Sandra, I will call you later for more ooo.
Thanks

What Is The Heart?

According to wikipedia.com. The heart is a muscular organ in most animals,

which pumps blood through the blood vessels of the circulatory system.

Blood provides the body with oxygen and nutrients, as well as assists in the removal of metabolic wastes.

In humans, the heart is located between the lungs, in the middle compartment of the chest.

Good day everyone.

I am very pleased to be alive and healthy knowing my heart is well nourished and taking care of properly.

like the saying goes; knowledge is Power!!!

I am also very pleased talking to everyone that will read this post and listen to the podcast because;

It's going to be information packed I promise you...

The reason for this Heart series is to create more awareness of the alarming rise of Heart-related issues.

The statistics are scary... We will soon get to that.

I like to describe the Heart as a pumping machine;

Imagine this scenario;

You live in an apartment  8 flats and just one pimping machine pumps water for everyone.

What do you think will happen?

Guess your answer is same as mine- the machine will need frequent replacement but unfortunately, the Heart can't afford that.

The Heart is the centre of our lives and we have been giving our hearts more work than it can carry unknowingly.

Facts about the Heart:

Let's end it here today. In our next post, we will continue our exposition of the heart.

Take care.

Heart Disease Causes, Symptoms, and Factors

Hello beautiful people, it's another wonderful day to be alive and Healthy and believes we are all in good Health.

Yesterday we started an interesting and information packed series on the HEART.

The major aim of this series is to bring the knowledge home and to our faces to enlighten us on the importance of having a Healthy Heart.

Before we delve into the matter of the day lets first all understand how the Heart works.

Understanding How the Heart Works

The heart is the hardest working muscle in the body.

The average heart beats 100,000 times a day, day and night, to supply oxygen and nutrients throughout the body.

Blood pumped by the heart also shuttles waste products such as carbon dioxide to the lungs so it can be eliminated from the body.

Proper heart function is essential to support life.

According to WHO;

Statistics has revealed that 150,000 Nigerians die annually as a result of heart-related diseases and alarmingly,

the number is expected to increase to 23 million by the year 2030 if adequate measures are not taken.

While Heart disease is the leading killer in the United States and affects an estimated 14 million adults.

Heart disease is responsible for more deaths in the U.S. than the 2nd through 7th leading causes of death combined.

Also, 34 per cent of the adult population in Nigeria live with ‎High Blood Pressure especially cardiovascular heart disease

before the age of 50 and the number is said to be on the increase as a result of poor diet,

the absence of healthy lifestyle, lack of exercise, and others.

So...

What is Heart Disease?

Coronary artery disease (CAD), commonly known as heart disease.

Heart disease develops when a combination of fatty material, calcium, and scar tissue (plaque) builds up in the arteries

that supply the heart with blood.

What is Plaque? - "plaque is like a firm shell with a soft inner core containing cholesterol"

Through these arteries, called the coronary arteries, the heart muscle (myocardium) gets the oxygen and other nutrients it

needs to pump blood.

The plaque often narrows the artery so that the heart does not get enough blood.

When a coronary artery narrows due to plaque buildup or some other cause, the heart muscle is starved for

oxygen and a person experiences chest pain known as angina.

If plaque completely blocks blood flow (like the 3rd artery in the picture above), it may cause a heart attack

myocardial infarction) or a fatal rhythm disturbance (sudden cardiac arrest).

How  Does Heart Attack Happen

When a piece of a fatty plaque (plaque is like a firm shell with a soft inner core containing cholesterol) in a coronary artery breaks off or ruptures.

When this happens, a blood clot forms in the area in response to the injury.

The clot may block the flow of blood through the artery, causing a heart attack.

Sadly, some heart attacks lead to the heart-stopping completely, a situation known as the sudden cardiac arrest.

The heart may also start to beat in a very dangerous rhythm called ventricular tachycardia, which is potentially fatal.

Guess we have said a lot today and it's probably a good place for us to stop for now.

Look out for our next post on the symptoms and signs to look at for as it relates to Heart disease.

The Heart Works 24/7 involuntarily. It pumps 8,000 litres of blood & 100,000 times daily. Research shows that 17.3million people die yearly from heart-related issues.

We lost 9 Nigerian Lawmakers in 2 years, 2 Nigerian Coaches within 3days due to Heart-related issues. Many more have died *SUDDENLY*

Your HEART Age is Probably Much Older than it should be, And Here’s Why.

There is need to Save the HEART, in order to prevent the next HEART ATTACK…
